- The RX-V671 offers six HDMI inputs and one HDMI output that support 3D pass through over HDMI from 3D compatible Blu-ray, games and broadcast devices to a 3D compatible HDTV. So if you've got the necessary accessories for 3D entertainment, you can enjoy the realistic, wraparound visuals of 3D video. With support for an Audio Return Channel (ARC), you can use a single HDMI connection to transmit digital audio from your TV back to the receiver without needing an additional cable.
- Stream Internet Radio & PC Audio
- Once you connect this receiver to your home network, you've just opened the door to a vast world of online audio. You can listen to custom tailored Pandora internet radio stations simply by dropping in the name of an artist you're in the mood to listen to, and it will create a station around that artist. - The RX-V471 offers four SCENE buttons to afford seamless operation of your new receiver. They come with default settings for DVD viewing, Disc Listening, TV Viewing and Radio Listening. At the touch of a button, you can enjoy any of these sources. Additional SCENE settings are available like iPod Listening, XM Listening, TV Sports Viewing and Action Game Playing so you can customize your shortcuts. You can browse and select the settings easily by changing the Input via the front panel and watching the on-screen display. You can make settings for one time only, or make them replace the original default settings and even change the SCENE names to fit your liking.
- YPAO Automatic System Calibration
- Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer (YPAO) employs a small microphone and sophisticated equalization to automatically set the best sound for your room, wherever your speakers are placed. It checks the speaker connections and phase of each speaker and then sends out tones which are captured by the microphone to analyze the room acoustics and sets several parameters like the speaker size, distance of the speakers and even sound pressure level. This process allows you to achieve optimum sound for your space.
- Zone 2 Audio
- This receiver allows you to configure a multi-zone audio system. The 'Zone 2' feature lets you set the unit to reproduce separate input sources in the main zone and the second zone, and you can even control the unit from the second zone using the system remote for convenient, seamless expansion of your audio.

Works great for my application - two rooms with separate volume levels and separate sound feeds. Music is clear and beautiful. Easy to set up and use. Great intuitive reading of USB devices (phones, players, flash drives, etc)
Negatives: overheats in a cabinet when music is loud. Need to install additional fans. Requires TV or monitor for setup while I use it for audio only.

I use this for my 5.1 home theater system. My speakers are old and cheap, but this receiver produced noticeable improvement with them. Took about 10 minutes to set up. My only gripe is that you can't hide the tuner or internet radio info screen by default-you always need to do a 3-key sequence to turn it off. The GUI is not the prettiest thing in the world, but it gets the job done. YPAO managed to set up a decent sound field even though my speakers are all bunched around the TV.
