Peavey Impulse 12D 12" 2-Way Active Loudspeaker

The Impulse 12D 12" 2-Way Active Loudspeaker from Peavey provides professional-quality audio in a durable and versatile design that's ideal for PA and stage monitoring applications. The injection-molded polypropylene enclosure houses a 12" field-replaceable dual voice coil Scorpion neodymium woofer to deliver powerful bass with frequencies as low as 52Hz. The speaker has a woofer servo circuit that monitors back-EMF and controls the cone motion to ensure matching with the input signal. The result is low distortion and high power handling for rock-solid bass performance. The speaker also has an advanced 4.7" ribbon tweeter, which is based on the ribbons used in the Versarray line array speakers. An integrated waveguide provides a 90 x 30° coverage pattern for a wide sweet spot and sonic transparency.

The Impulse 12D uses Peavey's IPR power amplifier technology to provide plenty of power while providing high levels of efficiency and keeping weight to a minimum. The switch-mode power supply and high-speed Class-D topology yield extremely high efficiency while delivering a whopping 1200W of power. The speaker's input section features 2 input channels, each of which is mic/line switchable and is equipped with its own gain control. Channel 1 has XLR/TRS combo and phoenix inputs, while channel 2 has XLR/TRS combo and RCA inputs, providing wide compatibility with a variety of devices and systems. The output channel has XLR, 1/4" TRS, and phoenix connectors so you can daisy-chain multiple speakers or send the input signal to another source.

The speaker features a DynaQ section that offers advanced controls such as Bass Enhancer, optimized EQ, and Contour. There is also a module bay that allows you to expand the speaker's functionality by adding wireless I/O, delay/time adjustment, a mixer expander, Ethernet I/O, and more. The speaker also has DDT anti-clipping protection to prevent distortion. The front panel LED can be set to display power, signal, or be turned off to meet the needs of your application. A sleep mode can be enabled that will automatically shut off power to the speaker when a signal is no longer detected. The speaker has an integrated side handle and 2 integrated hand grips for convenient portability. A molded pole socket allows you to mount the speaker on a stand or on top of a subwoofer, while 3 flying point inserts allow suspended installation.
