The Avid Media Composer V5 to V5.5 Software Upgrade allows you to upgrade your Avid Media Composer V5 to V5.5. You are provided with features such as native support for Apple QuickTime video formats and direct access to edit RED files through AMA (Avid Media Access).
The Avid Media Composer 5.5 is an NLE (nonlinear editing) software that allows you to collaborate easily with video and audio editors, and can work with practically any media format. It features fast file-based workflows, and comes with full-featured, ACE-certified editorial and creative tools.
Featuring support for the AJA Io Express interface, the Media Composer 5.5 enables you to expand your audio and video capabilities, and capture, monitor, and output video. The software offers AMA (Avid Media Access) support for the Sony HDCAM SR Lite codec, and allows you to access media and all related metadata without transcoding enabling you to quickly edit and select appropriate clips.
Media Composer 5.5 provides real-time multi-stream playback and accelerates your workflow, and features support for the Avid Nitris DX AVC-Intra interface that incorporates built-in AVC-Intra encoding. Offering built-in EUCON support for Artist Control, Artist Mix, and Artist Transport control surfaces, it allows for convenient control over most video/audio editing and mixing functions. The software also allows you to execute complex functions with just one touch via responsive tactile controls and programmable Soft Keys.
Using Avid PhraseFind, Media Composer 5.5 can blend audio indexing with dialog search, and enables you to swiftly find clips that include certain words, just by typing it out. This saves time and provides an alternative to importing results or searching through bins. The software features an improved Find tool that searches material in bins on local and shared storage as well as clips, sequences, script text, the timeline, and monitors.
Featuring an expanded Smart Tool, Media Composer 5.5 enables you to directly manipulate transitions in the timeline. The length of the effect in the timeline can be adjusted by just grabbing one of the two handles, and the transition’s position can be altered by grabbing the center. The software also allows you to record high-quality voiceovers and overdubs, and offers 20 AIR RTAS plug-in effects. Video effects, graphics, and music for content on web or disc can be created using the updated Production Suite (boxed version only).
