I have only used this tripod a few times since purchasing it, but so far it has been well worth the money. Sure, it's not as sturdy as the really high quality tripods, but for 1/10 the price of some of the really high end models it performs perfectly adequately. Also, since it's "cheaper", it is made of lighter materials and is therefore lighter (both a pro and a con, since it isn't quite as sturdy as a bulkier model).

I give this tripod 5 stars not because it is the best tripod, but rather because it is a great product for the price. Compared to other tripods, I might give it 3.5 stars. But since price is obviously a factor, I give it 5 stars.

I purchased this without being able to read a review about it, so hopefully my writing this review helps someone with their decision. It really is a great tripod for the money.

This is a cheap tripod. As a result I did not have high expectations. For what it cost you really can't complain. I own a pair of more serious tripods so I purchased this to have a lightweight alternative when carrying them is not an option. Its small enough to keep in my laptop case, or strap to one of my smaller camera bags.

One can never have too many stands for random lighting accessories, reflectors, etc...

For causal use with a lightweight point and shoot this is probably all you need. I would use this with my SLR in a pinch but plan to get a real tripod for heavier cameras.

The tripod had good potential but is too shaky. You can't take long exposure photos with it.

Comments about Aiptek ZACSTD5 Floor Standing Tripod:

The Tripod is an incredible deal for what it costs. It does the basic functions that any other tripod does. The only difference is that it is not always the easiest to alight perfectly in order to get very precise angles. Because of this, I do not recommend using it in a location where there are a lot of straight lines. If you shoot indoor events or are looking for a compact professional grade tripod I would look towards a more precise tripod manufacturer such as Manfrotto.

Comments about Aiptek ZACSTD5 Floor Standing Tripod:

The shoe broke the first time it was used. I was just lucky to catch the camera. It's supposed to be rated for 4+ lbs., but 3 seemed to be way too much for it.

It is compact, which is why I bought it, so if you have a very light camera, it might be OK.

Comments about Aiptek ZACSTD5 Floor Standing Tripod:

Very good tripod. It is compact and lightweight, so you can easily fit it into your backpack when hiking. It weighs well under 2 pounds, that what I like most. However, it extends as much as many professional tripods: each leg consists of 4 folding segments and is made of anodized aluminum, so it feels quite sturdy and reliable. It can be tilted along all 3 axes and includes the bubble for leveling.

I bought two of theses tripods to hold slave flashes, softboxes, etc. The only thing I probably won't put on it is a heavy DSLR. It's light and compact, so it's great to take with you. I only wish it was a little taller, but for what I'm using it for, it's okay.
