The 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit from TRENDnet is a set of two Powerline AV Ethernet adapters. They can be used to expand the coverage of your home network by utilizing the electrical wires in your home to transmit data. They deliver higher performance than Wi-Fi networks -- up to 500Mbps transfer rates -- and do not suffer from the interference, drop outs, dead spots, or security risks that are associated with wireless networking.
The kit includes two adapters, which make it easy to network two rooms in your home. Plug one into your router and another into a device or hub that you'd like to connect to your network. Up to 16 total adapters can be used in one home. A sync button connects the adapters with the press of a single button, and you'll be happy to know that your data is protected via 128-bit AES encryption.
Note! Maximum of 16 adapters (nodes) recommended for streaming video across your network. Additional adapters may decrease performance.

Comments about Trendnet 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit:
I bought one pair to stream to a new Sony Bluray/DVD player, and it worked so well I bought another pair for our computers, eliminating 1 WIFI connection and an inconvenient network wire. Works out of the box with no fuss. I have not used the software or the manual included with the set, since there was no need. If they do not fail over time, I will be very happy with them. Since they should not be plugged into a surge protector, I wonder if they will put up with power line surges. Time will tell.

Comments about Trendnet 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit:
I wanted to improve connectivity in my wired/wireless network for a new Sony ionternet TV. Wireless wasn't working too well, but the TrendNet ethernet adapters were a good answer to network connectivity. Would be 5 stars, but I had to re-synch the adapters on a couple of occasions. Good solution for rooms were your wireless doesn't reach.

Comments about Trendnet 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit:
I love this product. I wanted my internet in my shed. My shed is like a ferite cage. No radio signal can get in to my shed. I purchased a set of the trendnet powerline adapters and problem solved. I have a router set up in the shed and sll that comes with the cell phones have internet. As long as both powerlines to to the same main power box in your home or office this will work.

Comments about Trendnet 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter Kit:
I couldn't get video-streaming through my wi-fi router to my Sony BR player and the Sony HD TV. It would log on, say to Netflix, but it couldn't complete loading anything. I bought the TRENDnet Powerline adapter kit, when I got I just plugged it in and it worked from the beginning. Problem solved!
