When it comes to consumer video, the Sony HDR-CX360E 32GB Flash Memory PAL Camcorder is out to compete for your affection. It not only gives you full 1920 x 1080 high-definition recording, it lets you choose between 50p/50i and the more cinematic 25p, for a variety of shooting styles. Equipped with 32GB of internal flash memory that holds over 2.5 hours of the highest-quality footage, the CX360E also offers a slot for SD/SDHC/SDXC or Memory Stick media.
At the heart of this mid-level gem is the back-illuminated 'Exmor R' CMOS sensor, which is capable of producing clear, colorful video and stills even under low-light conditions. Helping you make the most of the sensor are a wide-angle Sony G lens with 12x optical zoom, 3" touch screen LCD, and Active SteadyShot stabilization to keep your images from getting too shaky. Meanwhile, shooting controls such as Intelligent Auto take the guesswork out of recording, making your life easier by automatically determining the right combination of settings for the scene before you.
When not using the camera's excellent built-in surround-sound microphone, you can record your own top-quality audio with an optional external microphone--easily monitored via the camera's headphone jack. Other great features include an Active Interface Shoe to mount the mic or other accessories; Tracking Focus, which gives you the ability to keep selected objects in focus; a built-in USB cable; and built-in flash and LED video light.
