Comments about Manfrotto 559B-2 Digital Video Monopod w/ Quick Release Plate:
I've been using this monopod for a couple of weeks now and am very pleased with my purchase. It extends quickly and smoothly, and is quite sturdy. I've read reviews complaining about the rubber foot, but I don't see that it's going to be a problem. Do wish the QR plate matched my tripod, but can live with it,I was planning to replace to tripod anyway, and was looking at Manfroto as a possibilty. this makes that decision easier.

Comments about Manfrotto 559B-2 Digital Video Monopod w/ Quick Release Plate:
I expected better from a Manfrotto. This monopod has every feature you could want except the implementation was terrible. The rubber tilt foot at the bottom is connected to the triangular monopod pole with a round hole. That's like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole it just isn't meant to work that way. On top of that they didn't use a rivet and the foot is only kept on with one screw pressure fitting. I had the rubber foot slip off several times when I used my foot to hold the bottom still. Also, they call this a digital video monopod however I would not recommend this for any serious video camera. I used a Canon XA10 weighting 1.8 pounds and when I held the monopod up to get a higher angle the pole bent severely. I can't imagine how a 9.9lb camera would react. Lastly the quick release was less than satisfying. The attachment pad is somewhat small for a video camera and the lock is terrible. There is no definite stop to the lock and I question my confidence in it. The brass locking tab is a nice feature but its poorly positioned and tends to dig into your hand when you are holding the camera. Overall I returned this after owning it 2 days. My first ever return to B&H. I went with the Manfrotto 681B and am extremely happy with it. So much stronger and it has my confidence.

Comments about Manfrotto 559B-2 Digital Video Monopod w/ Quick Release Plate:
I use this monopod with several heavy cameras. The first monopod worked so well, I purchased a second identical one. Unfortunately, the new one does not support the weight of a heavy lens as well as the first one. One of the slide locks does not hold well. I will be returning this defective product for a replacement that will hopefully work as well as the first one.

It is light weight but sturdy. It is also tall enough for me to stand up straight to see through my camera's viewer. Nice quick-release too.

Perfect for my Canon 60D for HD shooting.
Light, sturdy, stable, quick, and very convenient.
Love the quick release plate. It has a lock system so the plate firmly secure.
It works well as a small jib-arm with 60D's swivel LCD.
I have a Manfrotto professional tripod but too heavy for my 60D.
Great addition to my HDSLR system.

This is a great little monopod. Lightweight, telescopes down to a small size. Easy to use. I use it for my Sony Z1U and my Nikon still cameras. Highly recommend it.
