I do software development for a living and I needed a machine that I could carry around and still hold several versions of several projects. This machine is better than I expected. It runs fast. It runs cool. It runs quiet. It has a big bright clear display. What it doesn't have is tons of bloatware. Don't worry about the 5400 RPM disk speed being slow. It is not a problem. This is an amazing machine.

I use the computer for gaming and I've encountered no problems. I've had no problems with overheating at all which is nice change of pace. The keyboard is spaced nicely which makes it a breeze to type on. The only issue I've found is the hard drive is 5400 rpm which isn't really a big issue in the first place. It's a great laptop for the price.

Finding a laptop was a project that I had been working on for months with little success. Nothing jumped out at me. But after seeing a review of RF711 on a tech show I watch, something clicked in me and I knew it was what I wanted. There was a moment when it was shipped to me whether or not it was what I wanted but long story short, I am far from dissappointed. It is sleak and fast, and it handles many of the games I play at medium or high quality, a challenge for most laptops. By far my favorite aspect is the ability for it to boot up in less than 30 seconds. If I had one thing that I feel could make it better would be the battery life. I feel that for it being a new battery I should expect more than 3-4 hours. I have found that I have never gotten 4 hours of use even while doing the minimal things if it is not plugged in. Aside from that, this laptop handles everything I want it to and does it smoothly and quickly.

Better than I expected. It has a second hard drive bay to expand that's not mentioned in the specs so that was a pleasant surprise. I haven't figured out how to turn off Samsung's auto hard drive repair software so I can create a third partition but that's a minor annoyance nothing more. Wish it came with windows 7 pro but again a minor issue. Battery lasts about 2.5 hours and the computer runs quiet and cool. I really like the fast boot feature. The computer was well packaged and arrived in excellent condition. I would definately recommend this machine to others.

For under $1000, it's difficult to find a quality laptop with a 17" screen, a Core i7 processor, and a decent graphics card.

If you want a cheap desktop replacement laptop like I did, this is the best value you're going to get. Comes with 4GB memory, but it has a free slot, so I could upgrade it to 8GB for a mere 30 bucks!

2 drawbacks: (1) the 5400 rpm hard drive, but you can easily add another, better one (I'm waiting for Black Friday so I can get a good deal for a SSD drive). (2) Fan gets a little loud when the nVIDIA GPU is being used by a program, but not noticeable when you're playing music or something.

I love the screen: the size (17.3"), the resolution. The keyboard is excellnt: tight, comfortable keys. The speed is lightning fast. I even like the sound, even though I had read negative reviews about sound on this model before I bought the laptop.

I use the laptop as a second office for lite work .I also use it for some gaming . This laptop is great , its fast and has a good picture quality . I've only had it for a week but I can say that so far it was worth the purchase .

I am a developer and need power and this laptop has it in spades. Build quality is good but could be a bit more robust (but then the weight would be more I expect). The screen is as clear as they get. The 3 second start from sleep is a great feature.

I would recommend 8GB memory if you're a power user. I have already maxed it, so will be looking to upgrade the memory soon.

The money you invest in the product is what you get! The laptop performes great and the graphics card and samsung display make watching videos and playing video games just perfect!

I mostly use this computer for surfing the internet, watching TV, listening to music, and writing Word documents. So far, this Samsung model seems pretty good - it works quite fast, and surfing the web is easy. I love the keyboard and the design. The big screen is also nice, although my old laptop seemed to have a clearer, brighter picture. The computer is also quiet and doesn't get hot. The only downfall is that I've already had one minor falfunction. The computer does a lot of automatic updates, and once it updated my computer, shut it down, and then Windows didn't work right. It was frozen. I had to play with it, and press start and F4 for it to work.
