Most other cases just don't fit quite as well. I wish there was more of a grip, but I sewed one on. The base seems to be wood,, you man drill a hole and put a bushing in the bottom for tripod use. Quality build.

This case is well constructed, with decent leather and stitching throughout. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of protection. I would not be at all surprised if the camera could be dropped and still come out unscathed, though I'm not so certain as to test that theory. Most bumps and dings should cause no concern. It is light for offering solid protection.

The strap is rubber lined, which should help preserve it from sweat and skin oils which would weaken the leather over time. I imagine the case could last for years, or even decades, of regular use.

On the comfort side, the strap is just wide enough, and the camera and case combination light enough, that it is not at all uncomfortable to let the camera hang by its strap when walking about.

It is also easy to remove the top half entirely if you want to keep the camera at the ready. With the top half removed, the case is pretty slim and unobtrusive.

The downsides are:

1) It doesn't fully close if there is a filter on the lens. I imagine many X100 owners that intend to use this case will have a protective filter installed rather than using a lens cap. An extra millimeter or two of depth on the 'snout' would have been welcome. It comes near enough to closing not to care most of the time, but in dusty or misty conditions fully closing would be much better.

2) It is a little bulky. Not bad, but it increases the size of the camera a little more than I expected. The weight is fine, it is more about external dimensions. It starts to look like a "serious camera", where part of the attraction of an X100 is to have a serious camera that doesn't look the part and stays unobtrusive.

3) There is no way to access the battery/card compartment without removing the camera. That is as much a problem of the X100 as the case, but it is tiresome to have to unsnap and then resnap it to the case every time the battery needs changed or pictures copied off the card.

The case is very well made and looks good on the camera. Complements the cameras style nicely while adding a bit of protection without adding much bulk. Its a bit of an annoyance that the case will not close with the lens hood attached, so that must be removed before closing it up. Aside from that its very nice and I like it a lot.

As with all cases of this style I wouldn't recommend carrying the camera around in the case when you plan on using it. Taking it off and putting it back on can be a pain.

Fits the camera perfectly, magnetic flap holds case closed nicely.. gives a nice level of protection yet opens easily and quickly to get the shot..

This case is the perfect companion for the Fuji X-100. The top portion snaps at the bottom with 2 standard snaps, wraps around and closes with another magnetic snap. While shooting this is comfortable enough to hang down, or easily snaps off/on. The bottom portion stays on the camera at all times, but will need to be removed to connect to USB, or change the battery/card. The leather leaves me confident that it will protect my camera for years to come.

Case fits camera perfectly but, if you have the adaptor and filter on, there's a bit of a gap but still closes good enough.

The workmanship is outstanding! It is 100% leather. Unlike most camera covers this one does not require being screwed into the tripod connection. This quality case allows me to attach leather loops around the neck strap holders that snap firmly into place on the body portion of the cover. This securely holds the camera in place. The portion that covers the top and lens securely snaps onto the bottom. The camera can be used with the entire case attached or just the portion that encases the body. I take this camera everywhere and the case is a must-have quality item to protect my investment. If I pay top dollar for an accessory I expect to receive quality. I was not disappointed.

Fuji's leather case for the X100 is exceptionally well constructed, and the materials are first class. I haven't used an ever-ready case in years, but I expect to keep this one on the camera at least half the time. It provides excellent protection and, I have to admit, it looks great - the classic, retro styling is a perfect complement to the beautifully designed camera.

Great fit and finish utilizing high quality leather. The only draw back is the lack of a cut out for accessing the sync port. The camera has to be removed from the case to access the sync port and battery/sd card door.

Definitely worth buying to protect your X100. No need for screen films, etc. Case is snug enough to protect, yet allows for a Sima cap-leash to be used as well. I wish Fuji would refine upon Leica's strap-to-camera connection, which leaves no flying ends/leads of straps.
