The Eee Pad Transformer Docking Station from ASUS is a portable docking station that is compatible with the TF101 Transformer tablet. Simply connect this dock to the tablet in order to transform the touchscreen device into a notebook with physical keyboard and trackpad!

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer Docking station is a great accessory to go along with your Asus Eee Pad Transformer. Not only does it provide you with a physical keyboard, but it also provides you with extra battery time. I haven't timed it myself, but it is a significant boost.
I bought the dock mainly because i wanted to be able to type notes in class on my Transformer but was finding it too slow with the onscreen keyboard. I have to say that the dock does a pretty good job. I do find the size slightly annoying, it is not a full size keyboard. But if you have been using an Asus netbook you should feel pretty comfortable with it. Also the touchpad is a great addition, but I find that when I'm typing I accidentally touch it and move the cursor and end up typing somewhere i don't want to. Thankfully there is a toggle button on the keyboard that you can use to turn the touchpad on and off. Find that very useful.
I absolutely love the shortcut buttons on the top row of the keyboard. It's so nice being able to control wifi, bluetooth, brightness, volume and other functions straight from the keyboard.
Once again the only problem that I have with it is the size of the keyboard and that fact that i'm always bumping the cursor around while typing when my wrists hit the touchpad.

The keyboard docking station serves its purpose. The buttons provide really great shortcuts to the tablet buttons and you can still use the tablet while it is docked. It is sometimes difficult to get the tablet part to stay put and the keyboard is a little buggy and delayed when you are typing. It's great for those who do a lot o typing an don't want to get the screen messy but it definitely could be better. It turns the already bulky (in comparison to the ipad) tablet into a bulky netbook and there is no way to really protect the screen when its folded againt the keyboard.

By itself, any tablet is a great media delivery device, and the Transformer is no exception. Add this docking station with its keyboard and trackpad and the Transformer is able to provide real productivity. And the additional battery under the keyboard extends battery life by several hours. Very convenient on the road! Turns the TF101 from a tablet into a netbook!

This keyboard dock turns the tablet into what is essentially, a laptop. Main benefit, besides the keyboard, is it has a USB host, meaning you can plug in USB keys and memory cards (SD cards) and simply drag n drop files back and forth. You can even plug in a mouse.The keyboard attaches securely and when folded, clam-shells precisely, like a laptop. It's a handy way to transport the tablet while protecting the screen.Keyboard is essential if you plan on using the Polaris app (word, Excel & Powerpoint editor), because it lets you type without the on-screen keyboerd taking up most of the screen.Other benefit is the keyboard has a battery which means you don't have to recharge as often.Con is that the USB does not support a printer. Other con is that if you want to use the tablet/keyboard combo primarily like a lap top - you could spend just a few dollars more and get a 'real' laptop that is much more powerful.

This docking station effectively gives me the ability as a writer to write anywhere I happen to be. I now have a mini laptop with a touch screen and all the other benefits of an ASUS Epad. Its a must have if you own a Transformer. Tablets are usually unproductive, but with this, it turns it into a productive netbook. You have to hit the off button for the trackpad,,,interferes with typing. Nice extension of battery life,,,matches perfectly.,Would highly recommend.

With the addtion of the keyboard/dock my ASUS Tranformer has become the perfect comination of a tablet and Ultra Laptop. ASUS recently updated the Android Operating System to the latest version 4.03 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
Properly setup, I have been getting up to two days of average usage on just the battery in the tablet. With the addition of the Dock battery it should run for at least four days.
The build quality of the the keyboard//dock is in keeping with the TF 101 itself, which is excellent.
I would and have recommened this combo to many people. As an aside, thereis a great user based forum for the Transforms should you need assistance.

Great add on to your Asus Eee Pad. I bought it for a trip I was taking and needed to download pics with the SD card reader (worked awesome) and used the usb ports to attach a mouse and external hard drive to save pics/videos and to watch movies that I had in it. Also the extra battery life was a big help.

Tablets by themselves are strong for entertainment and media delivery, weak on productivity. The eee Pad Transformer docking station turns the tablet into a large-ish netbook, with standard keyboard and trackpad input augmenting the touch screen. This makes it possible to type documents and emails much more effectively than the on-screen keyboard.
Looking for power productivity? Get a regular notebook. But for doing email and some minor document editing on the go, the docking station really extends the usability of the eee Pad Transformer.
The tablet snaps into the docking port hinge very solidly, forming a robust integrated unit. A slide lock holds the tablet firmly in place and the docked tablet feels very solid.
The keyboard is a bit narrower than a standard notebook but not quite as cramped as an eee PC Netbook. It's a little harder typing on it than on a standard keyboard, but easy to get used to. It doesn't feel clumsy like my netbook.
The trackpad is sensitive and adds a standard mouse cursor to the display. Some Android features (scrolling through desktops in ICS for instance) still require a swipe at the touchscreen.
Arguably the greatest feature is the battery under the keyboard, extending the Transformer's already great (7 hrs in my experience) battery life to 12 hours of continuous use. This translates to several days of intermittent use. It's very handy for travel when heavy duty productivity isn't needed.
Plug it in at bedtime to charge - with the keyboard the Transformer will take all night to charge, but you've got loads of battery life when it's fully stoked with electrons.
This upgrade to your Transformer tab is well worth the price, and there is no better price available than the one you'll find at B&H Photo!

This makes a tablet the best of both worlds - tablet and laptop. It has the ease of typting with a keyborad and the zoom ability of a tablet. It does make it just a little heavy though when the two are combined. It also adds two USB ports and a card reader.

I wasn't sure I would use the keyboard much, but after testing a friend's I found out the keyboard layout is good (blows away my Asus and Dell netbooks I had before). I liked the extra battery life and price has come down so I decided to give it a go.
Very happy that I did. I use the table almost always with the keyboard at work so I can easily take notes, create docs and spreadsheets. At home I used it if I am going to need the battery life or something to keep the screen up for watching movies.
an't say how nice it is and definitely recommend. Even my friends that have their ipad 2s with wireless keyboard drool over how integrated and easy this is to use, and when they hear about the battery they are shocked why Apple didn't do this. :)
