Before I started using the SanDisk "Extreme" CF cards, it seemed to take forever to get images off the card and onto the Mac using generic cards. and too reformat in the camera to start shooting again was even more dreadful.
Now! I can drop the images from a card that is fully loaded to capacity onto the Mac, stick it back in the camera, format, and start shooting again, in less time then it took me to write this review!

First off, I don't often review my products here, but I found it necessary because of the amount of sillyness in this prior post. 1: The D70 is an 8 (almost 9) year old camera. It is not, nor was ever meant to work with memory cards designed today with UDMA or other fast technologies. 2: If you take the time to check out Nikon's product page for it, the only actual *Approved* 4GB CF card for it is a Lexar 80x WA card. The largest approved Sandisk card is a 2gb extreme III, which had a 30mbps transfer speed, so I think it's safe to assume this may be both too large a capacity, and too fast a specification for the D70 to handle. While you shouldn't just buy new cards expecting them to work in an 8 year old camera, persue some due diligence before your next memory card purchase: Other brands and capacities of cards may work, but Nikon cannot guarantee their operation. Check with the manufacturer of the third-party card for compatibility information. Nikon recommends keeping one of the approved cards available for troubleshooting."Some very useful advice indeed. Good luck.

The cards are great. A full card fits on a DVD, they are fast and reliable. I use them in Canon DSLRs

I've owned SanDisk cards for years. Knock on wood, they've never let me down, and I am confident they never will. Read and write speed is very good on these as well, but I am always much more concerned with reliability and that's why I keep coming back to SanDisk.

I use this for travel and general photography, esp. when I'm not using RAW, as the capacity is now small.

If you don't need the speed of the Pro series, SanDisk Extreme is the best out there. I've never had a bad experience with this product.

Cards held up to a high number of shooting. Data transfer is a little slow but there were no errors or failures as we get with other brands.

I have photographed with this card 4 times and 2 out of the four times I have lost all images. I have used it in a Nikon D70 - the card does not consistently make contact inside the camera thus perhaps one of the reasons for the loss of data.
The price is great if you are willing to risk loss of images, time and data. If you buy this do not use it for professional applications and use it for Plan F (fail) if you have used all other more dependable memory cards.

I am using the card in my Olympus E-3, plenty fast, and reliable so far.
I like to keep my cards a little smaller, so all of my "eggs" aren't in one basket when shooting, and this works nicely.
