Sima SL-100IR Infrared LED Light
Sima's SL-100IR Infrared LED Light helps you find your way through the dark. Utilizing 36 cool-to-the-touch infrared LEDs, this shoe-mountable video light works with your camcorder's IR shooting mode to help you capture all the things that go bump in the night. The super bright LEDs cast their nocturnal glow up to 75 ft away, so you can observe and record both man and beast while remaining as unobtrusive (and invisible) as possible.
The light's patented interlocking design lets you up the illumination by easily combining units, while the included video bracket and tripod mount give you the flexibility of moving the light off-center or adding additional accessories to the camera's shoe mount. Also included are a lithium-ion battery and AC adapter/charger, providing the option of battery or AC power.
Note! Camera must feature IR shooting mode for SL-100IR to work.

Works absolutely perfectly.
However, beware of battery life. This item runs for 45-60 minutes on a charge, and takes 3 hours to recharge to full capacity... and it has no bay for extra batteries.
Also, I have seen some people who say that the lights just don't work. Usually, these reviews are written in poorly spelled reviews or broken English. What these people don't seem to understand is that for an IR light to work and give you night vision capability, your camcorder will need to be able to record with night vision!
MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CAMCORDER HAS IR NIGHT VISION CAPABILITY BEFORE BUYING THIS ITEM. The only camcorders out there right now that appear to still have this capability are the higher-end Sony camcorders.
Don't buy this item and then complain that it doesn't work if you don't have a camcorder with IR Night Vision capability.

I do paranormal research and us a sony HDRSR11 with super nightshot. I was looking to get better a longer light and I stumbbled on to this....It works great my only issue is the 3 hours to recharge and the 45 mins. of straight use...But there is an easy hack on youtube that helps fix this....All is great with it I would recommend it and B&H is the best place super fast shipping as well....

I use this light for my ghost hunting hobby. It is perfect for lighting up an entire room and capturing anything creeping in the dark! If you are going to be in a very wide open facility or warehouse type place, you will need several of these lights to help illuminate the entire space, but...they will work, and they have this nifty little clip on each light, so that you can connect them to one another to build a wall of light!! The attachment it comes with for attaching it to a camera or tripod is a little hard to manipulate as far as tightening and all that, but man...for the price of this light...you couldn't ask for anything better! It's great!!

I use the Sima SL-100IR Infrared Led light to film metal detecting hunts at night. I have a Sony DCR-DVD810. The IR illuminator that is on the camera is not enough light to video even close up targets. So I did a little research and found the SIMA. All I can say is LET THERE BE LIGHT!. I wouldn't recommend trying to film past 30 to 40 feet, unless inside and complete dark. Most of my hunt films are closer than 10 feet and the light is bright enough to zoom in and even do macro on items I find. It even comes with a mounting bracket that gets it out of the way and at an angle that puts the light anywhere you need it. A definite + and I highly recommend the SL-100IR for this application.

I work for a paranormal reality show and this is the best preoduct on the market. Illuminates an entire room for up to 45 ft. The charge lasts 45 minutes to an hour. Love the fact you can plug it in and use it. The only drawback is it takes about 3 hours to charge but when it runs out you can just plug it in

This device is designed to work with night vision (infra red) video or still cameras. I attached it to my Vivitar 510N night vision DVR and the difference was astounding. Lighting, even at a distance greater than 10 feet, was much improved and so was the quality of the picture.
The instructions are confusing as to whether the unit can be used when the charger is plugged it. The answer is "YES"; the device works even with the charger plugged in.

I have a Canon XF105 which has infrared capability. The built in light is only good for about 8 to 10 feet max. I place this light on the camera and it lights up everything like daylight for about 20 to 30 feet.
Not used about battery life since I have not used it for an extended time. I would actually have preferred the ability to use my own AA batteries. Other wise great product at a reasonable price.

I use this with my Full Spectrum Digital Camera, and Nightvision camcorder. This light has an excellent field of view lighting. I also like that you can use the power adapter with it while using a tripod, to save battery power. It gets about 40 minutes of battery power, so I am going to buy 2 more for longer shoots.

The Sima light replaces the SL-20IR. It's basically the same light only now you can use the light through AC wall power. That was the biggest issue with the original infrared light was you only got about 45 minutes of power per charge. And charging takes a while. You could not use wall power and the light at the same time.
Comes with a bracket.
You DO need a camera or camcorder that is capable of seeing night vision (i.e.: Sony camcorders) or has the IR filter removed in order to use this properly.
LED's are very bright and cover a large area for such a small item.

I use it as an additional IR Light for our security camera at night. Lights up the whole back side of the house which is about 35 feet away. The SL-100IR has been made water proof and is housed in a protective cover on the side of our Tuff Shed to protect it from inclimate weather.Power is supplied from inside and is turned off and on by digital timer.

i use these night vision lights on all my investigations and they are very good and clear for seeing in the dark. with this light you will see in pitch darkness. only issue that i have is that they die within a few hours other then that i am very pleased with this product
