Comments about Pacific Image PrimeFilm 120 Multi-Format CCD Film Scanner:
I purchased this scanner when it first became available and before any reviews were out. It was a complete waste of money. You get better results with an epson flatbed scanner. The software is a joke, the scans results range from poor to awful. There is banding and noise in all images and the colors are terrible. The plastic tabs on the medium format film holder broke the first time i used it. I am now shopping for a used Nikon scanner. I wouldn't even feel good selling this to another person so, I am writing it off as a mistake and will never buy a pacific image scanner again.

Comments about Pacific Image PrimeFilm 120 Multi-Format CCD Film Scanner:
I really wanted to like this scanner. My first example was dead out of the box and would not pass POST. B&H happily exchanged it. The second example powered on, passed POST, and ran for about 90 seconds before literally grinding to a halt. I can't speak to the final image quality, because I was never able to get a scan from it.
B&H was extremely helpful while working through the product difficulties. I have nothing but good marks for B&H. I can not, however, recommend anyone purchase this scanner.
Ed Hamrick of is working on providing support for the scanner in vuescan. I wonder if he will be able to buy a working scanner to test with.
Comments about Pacific Image PrimeFilm 120 Multi-Format CCD Film Scanner:
Im thinking I was one of the first out there to buy this unit REALLY hoping it did a decent job. Ive had it for a month, and I just cant get it to be reliable for me.
My issues:
- Software is amazingly bad
- There is signifigant noize in EVERY image i scan. No matter how low I set the res. I cant even get internet quality images out of it...
Since Im stuck with it now, Im hoping another software company comes out with something for it..
So if youre a fill shooter like me, you might as well just wait.. or switch.
Seriously Primefilm? YOu couldnt do better than this?

Comments about Pacific Image PrimeFilm 120 Multi-Format CCD Film Scanner:
Need to cut 6x7 negatives into single frames in order to scan. The software is absolutely horrible. The entire thing feels cheap. We are being ripped off because a scanner of this quality would have sold for $1000 three years ago if the Coolscan 9000 ED was still out. They're taking advantage of a monopoly and it's way too over priced.

Comments about Pacific Image PrimeFilm 120 Multi-Format CCD Film Scanner:
I use this product to scan medium format and 35mm film. I have never had the opportunity to own a scanner like this one; and I must say that I am enjoying the results. The images this unit produces are superior. I am glad I took the risk and would gladly recommend this unit to anyone looking for quality scan results.

Comments about Pacific Image PrimeFilm 120 Multi-Format CCD Film Scanner:
The unit is awesome. The scan quality is amazing. Now I have found a scanner that can scan my medium format negatives with great quality. It is also easy to use and pretty fast considering the high resolution scanning. I would recommend this unit to not only home users but even photo labs.
