The LXT380VP3 2-Way Compact Communication Radio (Pair) from Midland is an inexpensive and convenient way to stay in touch on family outings, at amusement parks, and more. Each radio has 22 selectable channels and up to 24 miles of wireless range in open areas. A channel scan feature automatically checks channels for activity, ensuring that you're on an open channel for clear communication.
The radio has an auto squelch feature to remove annoying background noise. Call alert will notify you of an incoming call within your group. The keypad is lockable to keep your selected settings. The silent operation mode turns off all tones for quiet, unobtrusive operation. High and low power settings let you adjust the radio's transmit power to conserve battery life.
Mic and headphone jacks are provided, allowing you to use the radio hands-free with a headset (sold separately). The radio can operate on the included rechargeable batteries, or on 4 standard AAA batteries. The included desktop charger and AC adapter allow you to charge both radios via a single wall outlet.

I bought these walkies to be used at a doggy daycare. They are extremely user friendly - in fact we never even read the instructions! We just charged them up and quickly figured out how to set channels and increase volume. I am extremely pleased with the simplicity and quality of these walkie talkies!

This product works GREAT. It works, feels, and handles just as advertised. The range for the FRS channels is about 1 mile. I haven't tested the GMRS channels because I don't have a license. If you are only planning on using the FRS channels, I would recommend going with a cheaper model (for example the LXT114).
