If you have the time to masterfully delve into preparing the camera movements of your next project, and then shooting dozens of flawless movements that make your point more than words do, then.....

The Cinevate Inc 26" Atlas FLT DSLR Slider For Tracking/Crane/Pulley Shots is a 26" mini-dolly designed with a ball bearing system that very smoothly slides a DSLR rig of up to 10 lbs in any possible direction -- sideways, forward, backward, up, down, panoramically, and at angles. It can very effectively also be used as a crane when attached to a tripod, and can optionally be transformed into a counter-balanced vertical pulley system. With a non-reflective, black satin anodized finish, and full CNC aluminum and steel construction, the Atlas FLT is a beautiful, tightly designed shorter version of the Atlas 10, and a much lighter, quicker-to-set-up, more affordable version of the Atlas 30 and Atlas 200.

On a basic level, with a DSLR mounted atop it, the Atlas FLT can simply be placed on any flat surface, in an east/west or north/south setup, or at angles, such as at 190° instead of 180°, and you can then track right or left on it, close in or pull back, or play with angles to even further magnify the telling of your story. You can also stand the Atlas up erect and vertically slide the DSLR on it up or down.

But if you're working not with a flat surface but with two big stones, one bigger and with a pointier surface than the other, then what you would do is attach onto the Atlas FLT its additional, optional, all-terrain legs, which resemble the legs of a spider and can accordingly spread wide or stand erect, either way almost gripping the surface they're on. The legs are designed, at the play of a few knobs and fasteners, to level off and compensate for any unevenness below them.

The Atlas FLT, via any of seven tripod mount plate locations, can also be mounted onto one or more tripods for an elevated execution of all of its capabilities.

And with the addition of a tripod, the Atlas FLT can also be used as a crane. With a part of one end mounted on the tripod, and the other end holding a DSLR, the Atlas FLT becomes a crane that can swing the camera up or down, or left or right in a circular motion. If, for example, you're set up as such at the edge of a roof overlooking a busy street, you can have the camera pointing down and then swing sideways for panoramic shots of the action on the street.

Another feature of the Atlas FLT is an optional one, but a gigantic one. A vertical pulley system! The Atlas stands vertically erect, a DSLR on one side of it -- not on one end but on one side, an added weight package on the other side, and the two connected by a durable, rope-like counter-balance pulley system. Push down the weight, and the camera smoothly slides up; push it up, the camera slides down. Your own little mini-studio!

The Atlas FLT does not ship with a tripod head, but is compatible with most 3/8"-16 heads.

The Atlas can also be stood up erect and the DSLR vertically moved on it.
If you're working with a surface that's not flat, the Atlas FLT's optional all-terrain legs can adjust to stand firm on all surfaces and to then level off and compensate for any unevenness.

Comments about Cinevate Inc 26" Atlas FLT DSLR Slider For Tracking/Crane/Pulley Shots:

This slider is a really good value. I travelled to Florida and was able to film a short project. The small size allows it to travel easy with the rest of my kit in a backpacking backpack. I have projects in India and Africa that I will be taking this product along for. Definitely increases production value when I am out in the field and can't bring along a full studio set up. I would recommend this if you are on a budget as well and cannot buy one of Cinevate's larger sliders. This slider works well for me and I would definitely recommend it.

Comments about Cinevate Inc 26" Atlas FLT DSLR Slider For Tracking/Crane/Pulley Shots:

After using various budget and alternative sliders, I decided to purchase this. It's my firm belief that below $1,200 mark, the only two slider companies worth going with are Cinevate and Kessler. I decided on the Cinevate.

It is... BUTTERY smooth. Very strong. Beautifully made. I use it with a 502HD head on top.

Comments about Cinevate Inc 26" Atlas FLT DSLR Slider For Tracking/Crane/Pulley Shots:

This is a solid slider. This is much sturdier then the Glidetrack ones. For the extra money this is definitely worth it.

I have used this slider professionally for a few months now and it has not let me down at all. You will need a good tripod head. I use a manfrotto Ball head and its just great coupled with this.

The sliding action is smooth and offers a number of different mounting options. Its nice as you can use tripods or stands.

Comments about Cinevate Inc 26" Atlas FLT DSLR Slider For Tracking/Crane/Pulley Shots:

This is a good product, but there's better on the market.

        Pros:
        - Smooth slides
        - Sturdy construction
        - Lightweight

        Cons:
        - No available carrying case
        - Slides feel like one of a cheaper slider (it feels like sliding on felt, not on ball bearings)
        - Feed do not move much (the all-terrain legs are probably much better)
