The MTF Services Ltd Nikon G to Sony E Mount Adapter allows you to attach any Nikon-mounted lens to the Sony NEX-3/NEX-5/NEX-VG10 and the Sony NEX FS-100 cameras. It is compatible with DX and 35mm format lenses and also supports lenses with or without aperture rings.
With a unique G mechanism, the adapter allows you to manually adjust the aperture of G/DX lenses. The adapter consists of a HE30 aluminum main body, brass, nickel-plated Nikon mount, and a stainless steel E-mount and offers easy attachment and detachment of lenses without causing damage.

I purchased this adapter so that I could use my Nikon lens on my new Sony NEX-VG20. I handles all of my G lens exactly as it was designed. The only negative thing that I can say is that it came with absolutely no instructions. As a result, at first it was very difficult to remove the lens from the adapter. I had to go to YouTube to figure out how to remove it. Other than that, this is a very well made piece of equipment.

How? For G lenses? I have zeiss and voitglander those work nice be the have aperture ring on the lenses. But G lenses have no aperture ring!

Have been using the product for two weeks of shooting reality style action sports, using a Tokina 11-16 and a Nikon 17-55 DX. The adaptor fits tightly but I noticed today shooting in bright sunlight that there was a light leak coming from the lens release mechanism. had to put a piece of gaff tape over. Also the aperature ring needs to be screwed down between adjustments and this makes it difficult to change f stop on the fly. Would be better if ring had more friction and didn't need to be locked down.

I must have spent over 6 hours researching adapters. In my particular situation I was looking for an adapter to mount my Nikon G lenses to the Sony VG20 handycam.There are adapters that will do this for as cheap as $40 and to spend [$] to many seemed absolutely crazy. The decision to purchase the MTF was based on the fact that the lenses I would be hanging on the VG20 are expensive pieces of glass. And when you are continually swapping lenses knowing that the threads would not be damaged and that lens flare, light leaks, lens play none of those issues are experienced with the MTF.As a documentary film maker I have enough to worry about, my time is priceless and the MTF adapter is built with the utmost respect for our craft.
