Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Windows is a complete package of professional software programs that allow you to create, manipulate, edit, enhance, package, and deliver images, graphics, audio, and video. The suite centers around Premiere CS5.5, for video editing, and After Effects CS5.5, for visual effects, and adds several other deep, powerful programs. With such a vast range of useful programs and tight integration between the applications, it's clear that the whole of the CS5.5 Production Premium collection is greater than the sum of its parts.
Those parts, of course, include some of the best-known, most-used applications in professional digital content creation: Photoshop CS5.5 Extended, Illustrator CS5.5, and Flash Professional CS5.5 are the household names, and their continually updated feature sets keep them essential. The suite is rounded out by Flash Catalyst CS5.5, Media Encoder CS5.5, Device Central CS5.5, OnLocation CS5, Encore CS5, Bridge CS5, and, making its debut in the suite, Audition CS5.5, which replaces Soundbooth and introduces true multi-track audio editing to Production Premium.
Start your production by recording quality-controlled video via OnLocation. Shepherd it through Premiere for cutting (where stronger support for dual-system audio is a welcome addition for DSLR video producers), Illustrator and Photoshop for graphics, and After Effects for visual effects (such as the Warp Stabilizer, for cleaning up shaky footage) and color correction. Use Encore, Flash Professional, and Device Central to deploy to the Web, mobile devices, TV, and Blu-ray disc. Throughout, keep all your assets updated and accessible via the application-spanning Bridge CS5. All that's missing from this picture is collaboration, and Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium addresses that aspect of creation, too. Adobe offers tight integration between this suite and its CS Live online services, which include Story, a collaborative script-development tool, and CS Review, an online review service.
Driving much of the back-end processing is the Mercury Playback Engine, which takes advantage of 64-bit computing to deliver video playback and effects processing at levels previously unseen outside of dedicated six-figure postproduction suites. Suddenly, 4K productions employing multiple streams of video and layers of effects are within your grasp.
Note! Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium requires a 64-bit operating system.

Wow! This is fantastic. It is what I have been waiting for. At first I didn't have the funds to purchase, except B+H made that a reality. There is so much you can do with CS 5.5 Production Premium, and I am only getting started. I can see me being hooked for at least 2 to 3 yrs with perfecting and fine tuning all my works. 5 star rating!

Use After effects for complex and large-scale rendering projects, Audition software is great for cleaning problem audio - lots of easy presets, and Media Encoder is great for mP4 and h264 files.

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Windows:
This suite is a must for anyone working a/v content and willing to climb the large learning curve on each of the individual programs. For anyone working with video, the warp stabilizer function in After Effects CS5.5 is amazing. My previous versions of Photoshop and Premiere were several years old and the improvements in the new version blow me away.

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Windows:
I just purchased an AVCHD video camera and was editing using an earlier Premiere CS4. Even though I have a quad core processor, the mts video files were very choppy when being played back. I had to waste time transcoding to a different codec and then edit the footage. I heard all the hype about the mercury playback engine and let me tell you it works!. The programing wizards at Adobe really take advantage of the quad core. I can now play the mts files smoothly. I use to just own the premiere CS4 and really wanted to upgrade to the complete production premium suite which includes photoshop and after effects. The Adobe website wanted a lot of money for the upgrade. BH had the full version of this product on sale this month at a cheaper price then the Adobe upgrade. Thank you BH for selling this product at a price I can afford!

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Windows:
I upgraded from CS3. I love the darker GUI so that my eyes don't hurt so much after hours of staring at the screen! I also like the orange text instead of blue in CS3. The darker design also makes the HD video stand out more. I love all the software included in this package. Upgrading to 5.5 for Premiere and Encore alone has re-confirmed my thoughts about Premiere, which are that I like it better than the other softwares to edit video with. This being said, like all softwares, this does freeze up sometimes and stop responding. Seen that mostly with Encore but be sure to save your files regularly and don't necessarily believe in or have faith in auto save.

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Windows:
I've been shooting HD video for a good while and CS5.5 Production Premium allows me great flexibility. There are several software packages in this suite, that allow me to enhance titles, create special effects and animations ...and edit like the pros. I'm looking forward to incorporating some 3D renders out of Blender to see how it all comes together. The only drawback would be the learning curve, but I wouldn't consider that a drawback. There's always a learning curve with any major software suite. Working with HD video just makes it a little more interesting, if you're into video/film making.

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Windows:
Very powerful and fairly intuitive. Works great with native digital files and the links between programs are excellent. Do not try to run this on a system that isn't powerful enough. The lack of any kind of documentation, even as PDF files means that you are pretty much on your own for learning to master this.

Comments about Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Windows:
I've been in video production for 17 years. My first editing system out of college was Premiere. I left Adobe for Avid because at the time it was a way more solid NLE system. I've always loved After Effects so when I heard about the integration will all the programs in the CS series I was intrigued. I finally took the plunge with CS5.5 PP. Now, I'm back as an Adobe fan and I'll never stray again as long as they keep up with what they are doing. The Dynamic link feature is my best friend. Sending your composition to after effects, audition, and encore from premiere is a god send. Codec's for all the new 35mm video cameras is my next love. With the fall of Final Cut upon us Adobe is saving the day.
