Vello Hot Shoe Adapter with PC Socket + Top Shoe - for Nikon (i-TTL)
Vello's Hot Shoe Adapter with PC Socket + Top Shoe allows you to add a PC connection to any Nikon camera that does not come with a built-in PC sync connection, while still retaining the existing hot shoe functionality. The top hot shoe supports full i-TTL metering when used with Nikon TTL compatible components.
Note! This adapter does not provide high-voltage sync protection, and is not recommended for use with flash units that have a trigger voltage of more than 6V.

this helps me to use modern studio strobe flash on my D7000 ( which has no pc terminal ) and with low trigger voltage strobes ( below 6 volt ) i am fully able to get the best potential from my Nikon in the studio or portrait lit setting
This is a well made unit. Do not use this with old style studio ( or portable ) flash that have trigger voltages above 6 volts as the manufacturer cautions against also in the product instructions
That aside..it is well made, does the job, the price is right, and I am very pleased

I don't need the extra flash connector. I bought it to raise the flash slightly so as not to get a shadow when a long lens is used and that without losing any of the Nikon flash functions. And for that it is great.

I broke my PC port on my camera. This is a cheap workaround rather than fixing it right now. Problem is that when used with a speedlight, the speedlight doesnt fit tightly. But, again, cheap workaround.

Unfortunately some DSLR's do not come with a PC Socket connection built it and I was stuck using only one flash on camera. Vello to the rescue! Right out of the box, I was able to sync multiple flashes to my DSLR using both wireless and wired connections. Very easy to use, locks in place without a worry of it falling off or disconecting and works like a charm every time.
Highly recomended for anyone who doesn't have a PC sync port built in or is looking for additional ports!
