The durable and compact Altec Lansing IM227 Orbit MP3 Ultra-Portable Music Speaker is made for iPod and iPhone. It's also compatible with other MP3 players and music-enabled phones, as well as laptops and portable audio devices with 3.5mm mini-jack connectivity. For increased mobile phone compatibility, the Orbit MP3 comes with a 2.5mm adapter, which attaches to the integrated cable with standard 3.5mm mini-jack plug. The cable also features a wrap-around cord storage system, which affords quick and easy connection to your favorite music device, as well as protection during transport.
The ultra-portable Orbit MP3 runs on three AAA batteries that provide up to 24 hours of audio entertainment. The distortion-free speaker system features perfectly balanced components, a 360° sound field, sufficient volume and outstanding sound clarity. I love that it pumps out a decent volume....great battery life. I use it on video shoots when someone has to lip-synch to prerecorded audio.... fits in my bag or pocket and plays from my iPod. The only downside is that the cord is fairly thin; you must be gentle with it. If you place the speaker somewhere where it can be kicked or dragged, you could damage things. Otherwise no problems. Good product at good price!

These are nice little speakers. Nice sound, plenty loud. It is a single speaker so don't expect the world. Only downsides I've seen so far are very short cord and the battery cover can be a pain to put back on if you're not paying attention.

Surprisingly good sound from this portable speaker. Better than my MacBook Pro. Much better than my iPhone. It's not loud, nor very bass capable, but it is neutral and clean. Takes 3 AAA batteries; use rechargeables.
