Whether you are shooting in the studio or outdoors, the Vello RS-N2 Wired Remote Switch for Nikon DSLRs with DC-2 Connection II provides you with a simple way to control exposures and an easy-to use-tool to create more "keepers".
The unit provides functionality such as: autofocusing, continuous shooting or single image capture and long time exposures. Since you can trigger exposures without touching the camera you will capture clear, blur-free images. The unit requires no batteries - it draws its power from the camera.
The Wired Remote Switch is a huge asset to keep in your studio or gear bag. This particular wired switch uses a cable that's 2.8' (86 cm) long, and is compatible with cameras that use the Nikon DC-2 connection, i.e. Nikon D90 and D5000 DSLRs.

Comments about Vello RS-N2 II Wired Remote Switch for Nikon DSLRs with DC-2 Connection:
does the job for a fraction of the cost of a wireless remote. I don't need it for distance, rather to limit shake on long exposures.

Comments about Vello RS-N2 II Wired Remote Switch for Nikon DSLRs with DC-2 Connection:
Why get the Nikon MC-DC2 for almost 4 times the price when this does the exact same thing. It has performed flawlessly for me. Great buy!

Comments about Vello RS-N2 II Wired Remote Switch for Nikon DSLRs with DC-2 Connection:
Couldn't ask for more for the price; chord is long enough, has an exposure lock button and functions well when plugged into the D7000 GPS port. Some may not like the chord but I don't want more batteries to worry about charging. Well done Vello!

Comments about Vello RS-N2 II Wired Remote Switch for Nikon DSLRs with DC-2 Connection:
Good construction, great feel, smooth operation ... why pay for the name brand (a LOT more)? The remote shutter release has a hold button, long cord, easy connection on our Nikon D5100. It does the job it is intended to, and it does it well. We have been using this remote for two weeks, heavily. I have no qualms about buying it, using it or recommending it.

Comments about Vello RS-N2 II Wired Remote Switch for Nikon DSLRs with DC-2 Connection:
I use this wired remote switch mostly for night time shots. Usually with shots that involve moving lights, fire works, and few other random stuff. It's very easy to use, light, easy to carry around and very handy.

Comments about Vello RS-N2 II Wired Remote Switch for Nikon DSLRs with DC-2 Connection:
I'm still not sure why the Nikon d3100 wasn't made with the wireless remote capability but this is a great alternative. It's a bit short for self-portraits but for long exposures it's great, especially since you can press the button and lock the shutter open as long as you want. Plus the price is pretty awesome.

Comments about Vello RS-N2 II Wired Remote Switch for Nikon DSLRs with DC-2 Connection:
Works like it should. It does support the "mirror up" function of the D7000, which I questioned reading the ad. Only complaint is the long exposure lock is too easy to accidently trip.

Comments about Vello RS-N2 II Wired Remote Switch for Nikon DSLRs with DC-2 Connection:
Only had my Nikon 5100 since Sept. and I finally saw I needed a wired remote for behind the camera shots. I've tested it on one outing so far and it works great. I can't imagine the Nikon remote for quite a bit more money working any better. It does what it is supposed to do every time and you don't have to set the release mode like you do for the wireless remote.
I especially appreciate B&H showing the link to the RS-N2 as an alternative to the Nikon brand.

Comments about Vello RS-N2 II Wired Remote Switch for Nikon DSLRs with DC-2 Connection:
I bought it to use for long exposures. I have a Nikon D90 and once I figured out that I shouldn't set the remote switch program (which is for an infrared remote) it worked just fine. The connection is snug. Quite simple and easy to use.

Comments about Vello RS-N2 II Wired Remote Switch for Nikon DSLRs with DC-2 Connection:
Bought this for use in my basic photography class. Easy to use even for a novice. Had the remote about 2 months and has worked well indoor and outside. Pay some attention to the lock when triggering the shot as it is easy to lock the shutter open inadvertently.
