The 1TB LaCinema PlayHD Multimedia Hard Drive from LaCie is a 1080p HD media player with support for HDMI and composite video output. It is capable of playing most popular digital media formats. The player features 1TB of internal storage, allowing you to store all of your media with ease.
A USB port is available for connection to a computer, making it possible to load files from your computer to the drive with speed and ease. A USB expansion port is also available, allowing you to connect an external hard drive or USB flash drive for additional storage. The media player has a stunning industrial design by Neil Poulton. This media player is very well built and stylish. The interface is very simple. The remote control is very responsive and easy to use. The player itself is extremely easy to use. My son (4 years old) has basically mastered it on his own.

I was looking for a media player with a large hard drive capacity, as I have a huge photo and video archive. I've been working on organizing it for a while now and was just missing a device where I could store everything in one place, and let other computers on the home network access it. LaCinema in that respect is perfect. It plays every single file format I've tried and has an excellent image and sound quality. The user interface is very simple and intuitive. It's exactly what I needed.

I have an enormous digital library of video tutorials and needed a way to watch them without having to turn on a computer.
The LaCie Lacinema Play-HD Has helped me to achieve this objective. Aesthetically, it integrates seamlessly into my home cinema.
Though it is built with plastic, it seems sturdy and performs exceptionally.
I have been using it for a month now without problems. I am able to look at various photo & video file formats through this unit.

I am not a computer expert but I have a bunch of Lacie hard drives which I have always been able to use out of the box. I spent a very frustrating night unable to load any files. I finally had to go through the process of reformatting the drive before I could use it. Unable to figure out if firmware update worked. Don't really know anything about it's other features.
