This printer replaced an HP 1600 series. I was lured to Kodak by the selling point that their printers have lower ink costs. I am a casual, home user that does not print a lot of material. With the HP, it seems that I was always replacing the ink even after low usage. The Kodak was very easy to set up and install, no problems there. For printing, it does a very good job. It's not real fast, so if you need something for large volumes of copies or multiple pages, this may not be the right machine for you. I used the scan feature and it worked great. It gave more options, such as cropping, resizing and tone quality than the HP. Copies came out very good. Its footprint is about equal to the HP. One thing I am not cray about is the diagonal rear paper feed. I have not had the Kodak very long, so it remains to be seen if the ink story holds up. So far, it has been a good purchase.

I had an ESP 9 loved it found it always consistent, never failed till the printhead went, decided to buy this printer as a replacement, as I was so impressed by the performance of my ESP 9.It was flawless !!
Two things I missed was the paper trays under the printer, that held 4x6 and 10x8 always ready to go.
The major problem I have encountered is the quality of print when using Iphoto is not good, my previous printer was fine with Iphoto, now I have a lot of banding and grainy appearance, but only when I use iphoto . When i use any other photo program it's GREAT !!! go figure !!
Anyway thats my 10 cents.

Comments about Kodak ESP Office 2170 All-in-One Printer:
To begin with this was great. Needed to replace ink cartridges and all down hill from there. Black appears to be missing or smeared. So just bought another set of ink. One copy looked so-so and next back to useless as before exchange. Isn't any easily accessible support other than maintenance screen which has not helped at all. Head cleaning does nothing.

It may look like it has a lot of keys to punch, but once you get it, it was easy to set up. It copies, prints very clear. I would recommend it if you want a machine that can do it all.

Comments about Kodak ESP Office 2170 All-in-One Printer:
I purchased this unit in order to save on printing costs at home. It does fine with text but terrible with pictures. (offline copy or from a PC) Anything close to black on a photo ends up smeary. Pictures are unusable. It also had a bad habit of sending more than one sheet of paper through at a time. I tried everything, but had to send it back for a refund. [...] I don't know if this was a one off lemon, or if all the copies of this model are bad. Do not waste your time and money.

Everything about this printer exceeded my expectations. I had done a lot of research, chose this printer because of all the positive comments about it and picked B&H to order it from because of their more-than-reasonable price. The value is exceptional!

Comments about Kodak ESP Office 2170 All-in-One Printer:
Overall a nice printer. Ink is cheap and the unit is pretty well made. NOTE: the printing from a phone or iPad will only print photos. This printer does not print emails, notes, etc. ONLY PHOTOS from your Camera roll. Even with the WIFI, it doesn't recognize your iPhone or iPad, so it uses your wireless router to send stuff to the printer. Very easy to set up,easy to use. Just a bit disappointed in the Mobile printing area. Maybe there will be an upgrade in the firmware for it in the future. The scanner document feeder is a nice time saver. The screen is SMALL so this may be an issue if you can't read small print.
