Comments about Altec Lansing M650 Octiv Speaker System:
Compared to the many options in a pretty wide price range, nothing comes close to the Altec M650. Terrific quality at a terrific price. Strongly considered a Bose unit but very glad I went with the Octiv M650.
There is some truth to other comments about too much bass at times, but if you dial down the bass, the bass should not an issue for over 90% of your listening choices.
Even for a little more cost, wish it had an FM tuner and was wireless but still very happy with purchase.
Also, very happy ordering from B & H.

Sounds great.
Comes with free Apps - which take some configuration to make work
Too bassy out of the box. However - once you get the equalizer App working it's all very controllable
Had trouble geting App to function - but the overakk system performs well

Comments about Altec Lansing M650 Octiv Speaker System:
I am disappointed in the design and function of this speaker. There is way too much base built into this speaker and it can't be adjusted very much. I can't even listen to a lot of music that has a slightly more than normal amount of base.
The woofer is mounted on the bottom of the speaker with no cover, so you need to be very careful when picking it up.
This speaker has no where near the sound I expected after reading CNET reviews.
