Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium for Windows is a complete package of professional software programs that allow you to create, manipulate, edit, enhance, package, and deliver images, graphics, audio, and video. The suite centers around Premiere CS5.5, for video editing, and After Effects CS5.5, for visual effects, and adds several other deep, powerful programs. With such a vast range of useful programs and tight integration between the applications, it's clear that the whole of the CS5.5 Production Premium collection is greater than the sum of its parts.
Those parts, of course, include some of the best-known, most-used applications in professional digital content creation: Photoshop CS5.5 Extended, Illustrator CS5.5, and Flash Professional CS5.5 are the household names, and their continually updated feature sets keep them essential. All that's missing from this picture is collaboration, and Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium addresses that aspect of creation, too. My 15 year old son got this as an upgrade from Sony Vegas HD 11. It's taking him some time to learn it, but the possibilities are endless. He is experienced enough to begin learning it, so we are very hopeful. I would not recommend for young students or for anybody as a starter video solution.

Before buying this I was leaning toward buying Final Cut Pro, but I realized that I would have to upgrade my old MacBook, which means getting a new MacBook Pro. Not to mention the dumbing down of Final Cut X which removed a bunch of good features. With this package you get all the power of Final Cut along with Image editing software and application development software like Flash, for only a fraction of the cost.

I've used adobe products for about 8yrs now. I mostly use premiere, photoshop, after effects, and a little audition. I most familiar with the cs4 edition but so far using 5.5 has been so much faster and more efficient. Cs5.5 runs so much smoother, loads quicker, renders faster, and exports so much faster. If you have ever exported in cs4 or earlier you know that media encoder is always messing up, 5.5 has the problem fix. This makes me the most happy out of everything. As well cs4's dynamic link tends to mess up a lot but 5.5 it works very smoothly. Now the only negative I've noticed is that editing in photoshop the type tool takes a while to load up and when I save files its a bit slow. Otherwise I still need more experience in the other programs.

if you looking for a complete video editing software look no further. this has all you want and all you need. even though i don't have windows 7 yet they provide a downgrade version to use which is great. this is pro software not the elements so you get more control. coming from final cut pro HD this is very good.

This software from Adobe is AMAZING! If you haven't been to Adobe's website, look at the the Photoshop and Premiere Pro videos to see just some of the amazing videos. Note to those who want to buy it: This software is for students. MAKE SURE YOU QUALIFY as a an Adobe student before you purchase. The image doesn't show the yellow bar that is actually on the package stating that this is students software. The discount, if you are a student, is huge. Also, this software is best for a computer system designed with heavy video or image manipulation in mind (a $400 computer will be extremely slow). Also, there is a HUGE learning curve. Be sure that you have some time to dedicate to reading, watching demo videos, and trying things out.

You will need to submit a scan of your student ID card and proof that you are a degree oriented student (registration with classes shown has worked for me). The Adobe process for validation to obtain a serial number works great and you should have no fear about purchasing this product if you qualify as noted above. The turnaround time to acquire the serial number is one or two days. This is a full function product and has no loss of function because of the student pricing.
