The simple to use ix4-200d appealed to me apart from its rich features. A sturdy design the Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d network storage device is a marvel especially for small office. There is no need to hire IT specialist to install the device, I was able to connect to the NAS device effortlessly. Once the NAS device is up and running there is no stopping the device. Performance wise it is fantastic. After working with the web based interface I was glad I chose the ix4-200d as it was so easy to use. Now my data is sharable on my office network. With RAID 5 I relieved of the worry of losing data. Even if one of the hard drives fail my data will remain safe. All I had to do was to swap the failed drive with a new one and the lost data can be recreated.

Comments about Iomega 12TB StorCenter ix4-200d Network Storage, Cloud Edition Server:
I own the NAS for 6 months now and I have no issues with response time. The read/write speed is great. The StorCenter ix4-200d works as great media server apart from satisfying file server needs. The product is a cool as I got a three year limited warranty. I bought the NAS for my media server needs and it has ideally integrated with my Windows home server. Easy to setup, 2 gigabit Ethernet connectivity, compact size, quiet performance is some of the advantages of the device. I also found that setting it up with static IP is no issue.
Comments about Iomega 12TB StorCenter ix4-200d Network Storage, Cloud Edition Server:
I bought the StorCenter ix4-200d NAS for my personal use and set up the media storage for streaming through Xbox and the performance has been tremendous so far. I really enjoy this NAS. There are several things that need to be done before the NAS is up that includes NFS file share and a link that leads to web administration page.
There is nothing bad about the device as it is tough and works great. It is a modern looking device and there is no need to hide it in the basement. The RAID array took some time to build but I did not mind this inconvenience as what mattered was that the data has to be safe.
Comments about Iomega 12TB StorCenter ix4-200d Network Storage, Cloud Edition Server:
The unit came a long time ago and may be obsolete as Iomega has come up with more versatile and modern NAS arrays but nevertheless, the StorCenter ix4-200d is still the pride of my office. Despite being around for quite some time, the device is never obsolete as far as technology is concerned. The ix4 was easy to install and configure. The NAS device is open to all clients like Windows, Mac and media players as well. The firmware can be upgraded. ix4-200d can act as an independent media server as well.
Moreover, I would call the ix4 a green device as it does not emit heat or noise while running and has the capability to run on minimum power when the disks are not spinning.

Comments about Iomega 12TB StorCenter ix4-200d Network Storage, Cloud Edition Server:
At last I found out a suitable centralized storage facility with all the network features for my business. Backup was a breeze with the Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d network storage device. The storage and backup is simple and you cannot get a better device in the market for this price. It is a simplified NAS device that guarantees remote access. I was able to access my data on the ix4-200d from anywhere using the web based remote access. This is not all; the personal cloud technology of Iomega is superior and allows me to keep my content under control.
To top it all there is no usage fee or subscription charges.
Comments about Iomega 12TB StorCenter ix4-200d Network Storage, Cloud Edition Server:
Though Iomega promised easy access across networks I encountered a problem. The issue was, I was able to access my Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d using my Wi-Fi but the same was not accessible when I connected over Verizon network. I was stuck at this point. I though I can use the same port as the ISM but this was not the case I had to change the port for personal cloud. The apps worked fine and I was able to navigate.
The greatest advantage is that the application was able to connect to multiple cloud enabled devices. Connecting to the devices was easy as all I needed to do was to give the Personal cloud name, IP address or DNS name to connect to the devices.
Comments about Iomega 12TB StorCenter ix4-200d Network Storage, Cloud Edition Server:
The StorCenter ix4-200d is an administrator's delight. Instead of using the routine windows storage server Iomega has tried the Linux which is a novel idea. I replaced my DAS array with the brand new StorCenter ix4-200d network storage drive with a big storage capacity of 12 TB. My requirement was simple, I needed the NAS to support file serving protocols like server message block compatible with windows and ix4 supported this fine.
Another requirement was I wanted the NAS to connect to my active director based network and that also works absolutely fine. Then I started to build iSCSI volumes effortlessly. The NAS also had security features intact to protect from disk failure.
Comments about Iomega 12TB StorCenter ix4-200d Network Storage, Cloud Edition Server:
You name it, it is here! The Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d is an advanced NAS machine that caters to a whole lot of features. The multiple RAID configurations ensure that the data is protected at all times. The dual gigabit Ethernet connectivity facilitates remote access. File sharing is made easy with iSCSI block access. There are loads of other features that can increase the performance of small offices. Space is abundant enough to store all my data.
Though it is bulkier, I have found a place for it in my room where it is tucked away safely without any hindrance to anyone. To host virtual machines, the VMware ESX 4 vSphere that uses both NFS and iSCSI is available. This NAS machine is definitely a cool machine to operate and maintain.

Comments about Iomega 12TB StorCenter ix4-200d Network Storage, Cloud Edition Server:
The greatest thing about 12TB StorCenter ix4-200d Network Storage, Cloud Edition Server from Iomega is that NAS is used not just as storage but as a platform as well. This has made it exclusive when compared to other rival products in the market. The PC less BitTorrent downloads has made this device popular among movie buffs. When I say PC less it means that downloading torrent files is possible without the need for a PC.
The Mac support also is great on this device. Bluetooth, UPnP, DLNA support is all inbuilt on the NAS device. The device works smoothly on Apple OS X machines.
