The SE-NC31C-K Noise Canceling In-Ear Headphones from Pioneer provide high-quality audio and active noise cancellation in a compact and lightweight design that's ideal for travel. The in-ear design and 4 sizes of interchangeable eartips ensure that you get a proper seal in the ear canal. The active cancellation technology reduces ambient noise by up to 90% so you can focus on your music instead of your environment.
If desired, you can simply turn the power off and use the headphones in standard passive mode. There is also a monitor button that mutes your music and turns off noise cancellation so you can hear the sounds around you. The headphones operate on a single AAA battery for up to 120 hours so you can listen for days.
The headphones have a standard 3.5mm mini plug and a dual-prong airplane adapter for use with MP3 players, CD players, laptops, in-flight entertainment systems, and more. A handy velour pouch is included for convenient storage.

Comments about Pioneer SE-NC31C-K Noise Canceling In-Ear Headphones:
I wanted to use these to block out airplane noise. Instead they barely cancel noise. They add an additional white noise that seems louder than the noise you are trying to block.I already owned a pair of "Audio-Technica ATH ANC23 QuietPoint". They were my first set of sound cancelling earbuds and I didn't know how good they were until I purchased these Pioneers. They are priced almost exactly the same. For $50 just get the Audio Technicas and be happy.

I've only used these @ the gym to drown out treadmill and other background noises. I am so impressed I got a pair for my father in-law.

Comments about Pioneer SE-NC31C-K Noise Canceling In-Ear Headphones:
I work in a loud warehouse that requires hearing protection everyday, these earbuds cancel the ambient noise very nicely. I am now listening to music 7 or 8 levels lower due to the awesome noise canceling. Of coarse it does not cancel all noise, but most of it. Worth every penny i spent.
