The 21.5" iMac Desktop Computer from Apple is a sleek all-in-one computer with a stunning 16:9 HD display. Capable of displaying 1080p HD video at full resolution, the display features a LED backlight and IPS panel technology for superior image quality. The iMac sports a sleek aluminum and glass industrial design, with a matching wireless slimline aluminum keyboard. Apple's innovative wireless Magic Mouse is included for cursor control, giving desktop users the same powerful multi-touch input capabilities that are found in Apple notebook trackpads -- in a desktop mouse form factor.
The built-in FaceTime HD camera hides discreetly above the LCD screen, giving you ready access to a webcam for Internet chat and conferencing. It will let you make video calls to other Mac users with the included FaceTime app, as well as to anyone with an iPhone 4 or an iPod touch model with a built-in camera.
The iMac features a Thunderbolt port. Thunderbolt is a high-speed interface that can move data at an amazing 10Gbps -- double that of USB 3.0. The Thunderbolt port doubles as a display output -- it shares the same physical form factor as a Mini DisplayPort. You can use it to daisy-chain up to six devices, so you'll be able to connect high-speed external storage and an external LCD display via the same port!
The system also features USB 2.0 and FireWire-800 ports for device connectivity. An SDXC slot is built-in as well, allowing you to download pictures from your digital camera directly into iPhoto.
iLife '11 has a complete suite of digital creativity applications. Easy enough for anyone to use, iLife will help you edit your home movies, organize digital photos, and compose original music. The system is also powerful enough to run Apple's professional-level applications, perfect for those who are ready to move up to the next level of creative software.
The computer is powered by a quad-core 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 processor for superior performance. It boasts 4GB of RAM, a 1TB hard drive, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi, integrated speakers, and the SuperDrive DVD burner. The glossy 21.5" widescreen display is powered by an AMD Radeon HD 6770M GPU with 512MB of memory.
The 64-bit OS features Time Machine backup, which automatically backs up system data to an external hard drive. It also features intuitive Cover Flow navigation, the powerful Spotlight search tool, and Quick Look document preview. You'll be able to use Boot Camp to run Windows on your Mac.
The iMac is a strikingly elegant computer that will feel at home on virtually any desk.

Comments about Apple 21.5" iMac Desktop Computer:
This computer completely ROCKS......to get this Custom to Order iMac Computer direct From Apple, it would have taken 3 weeks to get......But B&H got it to me fast as they have this upgraded version of the iMac in stock regularly.....The Big HD Screen looks great.....lots of real estate to work on......The machine is very fast and it is the perfect Home Desktop Computer, yet powerful enough to do High End Audio or Video Rendering, or App Development, or whatever you want to throw at it.......between my iPhone, and my iPad, my Apple TV, and now this iMac, I am synced in the iCloud and all my data is always synced everywhere on all my devices and machines.......It's good to be PC FREE finally.........I highly recommend you get one of these.......

I got it from B&H faster than I could have from the [@] and it was a pleasure to operate. This was my first Mac and it was so much easer to set up and use than my windows that I am not even going to load the free software to run windows that it came with.

Comments about Apple 21.5" iMac Desktop Computer:
My girlfriend and I have our own accounts/workspaces on this one machine. I was able to consolidate 2 separate desktop machines this way and free up tons of physical desk space. She came from a PC so I thought she'd have a steep learning curve or we might be missing some apps. The learning curve was about a day. :) Plus, there are no missing apps -- much better ones actually. Perfect and complete digital hub overall. Migration Assistant brought everything over from old PCs and even transferred mail settings, etc. My girlfriend doesn't miss her PC at all. She loves iPhoto, iTunes, Mail, Office for Mac (purchased). I can't get enough of GarageBand and Logic Express (purchased). Backups are a piece of cake with Time Machine. Need to run another OS? Get VirtualBox. The 2.8 GHz i7 processor on this iMac is really fast. I couldn't be happier with this machine... Well, it would be nice if there were a couple more USB ports. :P

Comments about Apple 21.5" iMac Desktop Computer:
Replaced my old G4 Mac and wanted a machine that was handy, easy to get to for web, mail, my stocks ( on Windows 7 using Parallels) and other apps not available on my IPad. The QuadCore I7 with 16G is great. I haven't tried to do any video conversions yet, but I'm expecting they will do well. I especially enjoy the Sleep function in Lion that lets you leave things in the middle and come back and pickup where you left off. Using Sleep rather than Shutdown makes access for a short task very easy. Love the Magic Mouse, and still getting used to the Trackpad. Highly recommended.

Comments about Apple 21.5" iMac Desktop Computer:
My wife & daughter had previously bought the the same model. On occasion I would use theirs, only to discover how slow my older mac was and other features were missing. My increasing dissatisfaction became very noticeable.
So I purchased the new mac and I am smiling again. It is taking a while as I get used to the many new features.

Comments about Apple 21.5" iMac Desktop Computer:
My new 21.5" iMac was a replacement for a dead 2004 PC. So far using a Mac desktop has been a fun and easy to use experience. Having a giant screen is great when I do photo editing. I can also easily make edit and create high quality movies on my iMac. The main down checks of the iMac is that it doesn't have usb 3.0 or a blue ray drive. I also do some light gaming on my iMac and so far I haven't had any major problems.

Comments about Apple 21.5" iMac Desktop Computer:
I use it for hi-end photo retouching + tethering on set. Upgraded the RAM to 12 GB and it's even faster.
Two REALLY BAD points :
. only one thunderbolt port in the back of the 21.5" imac - which means if you hook up a cinema display as I do, you're done (thunderbolt being used to connect the iMac with the display). Really annoying. on the other hand there's no hard drive out yet to use the thunderbolt connection...
. USB 2 !!! On a brand new imac ?! Thanks to apple I won't be enjoying USB 3 nor thunderbolt - just plain great. What in the world were they thinking ?
Other than these port deceptions. The computer itself is pure happiness with the quad core i7 processor.
