The Axis Communications Q8108-R 8-channel Network Video Recorder is ideal for surveillance purposes in public and commercial transportation. A rugged IP43-rated aluminum casing ensures that the DVR is protected against shocks and vibrations. You can also avail of an optional cable sealing in order to meet IP65 rating standards.
Featuring a 1.1 GHz Intel Atom Z5 series processor, 1 GB SODIMM DDR2 RAM, 4 GB Compact Flash SSD drive system disk, and the Windows Embedded Standard 2009 operating system, the recorder provides uninterrupted in-vehicle recording in full frame rate HDTV resolution for up to 8 cameras at a maximum total recording bit rate of 70 Mbps. In addition, the Q8108-R supports use of up to 2 separate hard disk drives and SATA connectors, thus simplifying installation and replacement of hard disk drives.
Support for H.264, MPEG and Motion JPEG video formats enables using cameras from multiple manufacturers. The Q8108-R network video recorder offers password protection and user access log for added security and also includes an NTP server. With the 8-port PoE, power is supplied to the camera from the network itself, thus eliminating the need for any extra wiring for auxiliary power outlets.
The Q8108-R network video recorder includes an 8-channel version of AXIS Camera Station video management software which can be further customized for third-party software. In addition, the recorder supports options such as WLAN (802.11 b/g), GPS, GSM / UMTS / HSDPA and an accelerometer. Power is drawn from a 12 or 24 VDC power supply.
