The black Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack from Lowepro is a lightweight pack designed for heavyweight outdoor action and manufactured to handle a rugged trail race, mountain bike outing or photo trek up a local peak. Made from triple rip stop nylon, the Photo Sport 200 not only holds your DSLR with attached lens, but a flash as well in its dedicated Ultra-Cinch Camera Chamber side-access pocket. This Chamber compliments the dual compartment approach to the pack that permits you to carry both clothes, food and camera gear.
The Photo Sport 200 can instantly become a shooter's pack. Quickly rotate pack to the front, unzip the pocket, access your camera that is stored in shooting position, pull it out, get the shot, stuff it back inside and you're back on the trail ready to tackle the next pitch. For the hiking part, multiple attachment points on the pack permit you to secure everything from ski poles to jackets, hats, cell phones, keys or a decent-sized pack of trail mix to keep you going.
Adjustable shoulder straps and a padded waist belt keep it squarely on your back while a molded back pad offers more than sufficient airflow to keep you cool and comfortable on the trail. The water-resistant 70D nylon exterior keeps your contents dry but in case you get caught in a rain or snow squall, simply deploy the built-in rain fly that will encase the pack for even more protection. If you're a night person, you'll find reflective piping on the pack so you'll be able to be seen on the trail or road.
Additional front and side storage pockets will hold your maps, water bottles, gloves - whatever support gear you have. And speaking of water, there is also a hydration pocket that can hold an optional reservoir so you'll never have to worry about being thirsty on the trail. Backed by Lowepro's limited lifetime warranty, the Photo Sport 200 AW is well-named since it allows you to get out there on the trail to get the "photo", while also allowing you to engage in the serious pursuit of "sport".

Bought this as a day pack for hiking/outdoor pursuits with camera in tow but not to be a primary camera bag. It is an incredibly well designed daypack for hiking/biking etc. Its comfort is partially a product of its relatively small size. I can fit my 7d (no battery pack) with the 17-55 lens on it in the camera slot and the 70-300L in the second lens slot fairly easily. Swapping lenses works as well. It wont fit with the 70-200 2.8 on the camera but I can fit it in the lens slot with the 17-55 on the camera but its tight and I cant leave the lens hood on the 70-200. With that any other combo of smaller lenses should fit well and possibly 2 shorter lenses in the lens slot back to back if necessary. The padding is relatively thin but seems robust enough for day trips etc. The compression system appears to work well but with the bigger body and glass that I've put in I haven't really used it much because its pretty snug without cinching it down. I certainly would be careful about tossing it around vs bags more designed as a camera bag.
I still haven't mastered the sling style entry into the bag but leaving the waist belt on seems to be key. I think part of the problem is that I'm a lefty and I really wish the entry door was on the other side.
The top of the bag is roomy enough to hold a jacket, gloves, camera accessories and some food and you could slide a monopod or maybe a really small tripod (my manfrotto 4 section carbon travel tripod fits but its really tight and only with the smaller lenses in the pouch) as the camera pouch doesn't reach all the way across. But there are also outside waterbottle size pouch with straps but it puts the tripod weight fairly off center.
There is also an expandable opentop front pocket that you could stuff a lot into but its not terribly secure but looks like its designed to hold a bike helmet if you needed it too and didn't have the pack stuffed.
The back water bladder pocket is nice and flat- would probably hold a smalllaptop or Ipad easily. I just wish someone would make the back hydration pouch truly waterproof so when the inevitable leak occurs it keeps it out of the rest of the bag. This is probably the only thing I'd really change on the design other than making a 300 thats a little bigger for backpacking or more camera equiptment. This is NOT a camera bag with a top pouch for a few day use items like the lowepro rover (which I have used for years). This is a small technical daypack which happens to actually hold a camera well putting the weight at the bottom of the pack and securing it while providing easy access from the side. A true ultralight fanatic would be able to use this pack as an overnight bag in the summer at lower altitudes with some good use of the outer straps but it would be pushing the limits of the bag.
In a nutshell this is the most comfortable camera backpack I've ever worn- because its a technical pack first with a well thoughtout camera pouch. And it doesn't really look like a camera bag!

Bag is comfortable with a large space to store a tripod inside. The inside storage space may need to be thought out somewhat better to provide padding for other delicate items. No sufficient packets to hold a filter set other than floating freely in the large space above the camera compartment. Has a nice rain cover stored in the bottom of the bag.

I own a lot of Lowepro bags and they all have their purpose but this one takes the cake. I do a lot of outdoor photography, I love my Rover pack but the Photosport has very easy access to my Pro sized Sony A900 and additional lense, there is plenty of room for more gear in the upper compartment and a divided one for my camelbak bladder, this pack is very light and compact but securely contains what I need with great support.

It's definitely a great light pack, perfect for the outdoors. The only ding I could think of was that my battery grip didn't fit on the camera while in the pocket but its not that big of a deal and I actually like running around without my grip on my 300s.

I purchased this bag for the sole purpose of an easy-carry-around option. I expected the bag to work its purpose, but I didn't expect it to exceed my expectation. I love the design and the size was just perfect. With this bag, I was able to fit my Canon 5D Mark II in w/the 24-105mm L lens attached, Speedlite 430EX II flash, Sirui T-025 5 section tripod, AA batteris, Canon EF 50mm
f/1.8 II lens, and more room left. The awesome part is, it might feel a bit heavy lighting this backpack up with everything I've mentioned it it, but once it's on my back it doesn't feel as heavy! I think because of the way it's designed when put on my back, the weight is not a factor. The only down side I can think of is, I can't fit another lens it there w/a compartment that's sepecifically designed for a lens. Max is 1 extra lens on top of the lens attached the the body. You can still put more in another section with proper protection. But hey, if you want a traveling backpack for easy move around and especially vacationing, you don't need more than 2 or 3 lenses.

Great for my 60d with 16-35 or 24-105 attached. I put my flash in the camera compartment also. Which ever lens wasn't on the camera, I put in a padded carrier and put it in the main compartment. There's plenty of room to put my Gorilla tripod down inside the pack next to the padded camera area. Or I can put it in the outside pocket. Plenty of room left in the main compartment for a jacket to whatever else I need to bring. The pocket on the top flap is great for my GoPro and a Clif bar. Great bag for what I use it for.

This is exactly what I was looking for.
I was looking for a bag for my DSLR that wasn't too big, resistant and with an easy access to my camera.
This means my camera is always in my bag (with 2 additional lens: 55-250mm + a 50mm in its box)and I always have my bag with me so my camera is always handy!

This bag is not designed to carry all your camera equipment and shouldn't be considered by those who like to take a lot of equipment around with them. On a good day, I can fit 3 lenses and my camera in the padded section (which, after you consider the padded materials used, is about a third of the bag's total usuable space).
This is a sports backpack. With that in mind, it is a great pack with easy access pockets and sections. It also has lots of straps and hooks for extras to clip on to. I've used it while out cycling and it holds all the extras (snacks, clothes, water bottles) that I need and is a good weight and size.

I use it for hiking and biking with my DSLR. Before I had to use a separate pack for carrying the water bladder and a case for my camera, or I used a large pack to put my camera in. But then the camera wasn't easily accessible. It ended up being to big and bulky. This pack is light and overs a pouch for my water bladder, an easy access panel to my camera and extra lens. Plus I can carry other things I take on a hike like food, emergency kit, etc. And it comes with its own stow-able rain cover, which came in handy when it started to rain when I was hiking yesterday.

Just got it today and already love it! I fit a Nikon D7000 with 18-105 lens, 10mm wide angle lens, and VS external flash (small) in the camera "block" alone! Cinch system is awesome and is super secure!
Rest of the bag is just as sweet. Waterproof, cool look, and fits my body perfectly (I'm 5'9", wider frame). Straps need adjustment, as expected, but it fits perfectly.
A lot of people say it's a LOT smaller than thought. Come on people, it's not a fanny pack size. It's a perfect sized adventure/outdoor/travel backpack. If you're a minimalist with gear (usually I'm not), you'll love it and if you're like me, you'll know what you truly need when you go out. NOTE - it won't fit a large lens (I tried a 150-500 mm Sigma lens, no go unless you go in the top of the bag). But my stuff is perfect since I don't usually use a battery grip, although I think it would still work.
Here's how to fit a 15 inch computer (my MB Pro is perfect for this):
1) Uncinch the camera block (although it doesn't make a difference or not, just for getting the computer in originally
2) Open large top pocket and feel down with your hand - the outermost area runs for the entire bag
3) Slip the laptop in the outermost area (away from the user's back) and get it to go all the way down
4) Zip up the top and adjust the clips, and BOOYAH it's in securely

This is a great pack for carrying around a body and two lenses with some extra accessories. Plenty of room left over for a tripod and your typical day hiking accessories. It's a very comfortable pack to wear and makes it very easy to get your camera out. Would def. recommend!!

Comments about Lowepro Photo Sport 200 AW Backpack (Black):
I like this pack. But it is not dual use as the camera liner takes up 1/3 of the space inside the bag. A simple zipper inside instead of stitching would make this liner collapse and give you almost 1/3 more space for alternate use when backpaciing with a thinner camera that fit in one of the other pockets. This is a well made pack that needs a zipper inside at the top of the cameras compartment to collapse the camera liner.

Well designed as a lightweight backpack for day trips, with easy access to camera. It fits an APS-C body with midrange zoom attached and a separate long zoom. It does not fit the body with e 50-135 zoom attached. It has a very simple, yet very useful layout of pockets; just a great mix of larger storage spaces and some well designed pockets. The harness is very functional and comfortable. Sould work well for sports.

I bought this pack for outdoor pursuits, from light walks/hikes to more jouncy activities like mountain biking, and have found it adaptable and comfortable to each end of the spectrum. The construction seems very good and well thought out, the harness system is very adjustable, and the non-descript black is suited both on a downtown trip and hiding trail dirt. A little more space, and possibly some ability to customize, within the camera area, would be a welcome addition.

This is the photobag I was looking for for years. It is the perfect bag for hiking and it also stores my camrea safely. As known from bags by lowepro the raincover is a buildin one, so I never forget it! I only want photobagpacks with easyacces, besides it has multiple pockets and it is just a perfect bag.

Use it for day hikes and urban exploration. Took it out camping for a couple of days and it works great.
The side section for the DSLR is wonderful and extremely useful. I liked the fact that the DSLR compartment can be folded in when it isn't in use.
The ONLY part is I didn't like was the size. I would say its worth buying if the backpack was LARGER. I wasn't much room for other equipment. However, if you're a minimalist, then this is GREAT.

This backpack is ready to tackle anything with you and keep your camera and equipment safe and protected from everything the world can throw your way! When I use it it holds my DSLR, 50mm lens, giant water bottle, snacks, batteries, chargers, memory cards, and more. It even can hold my 13" MacBook Pro in the hydration slot against my back. Highly recommended!
