Comments about Iomega StorCenter px4-300r Network Storage Enclosure:
From the hardware to the software everything works perfect in the StorCenter px4-300r NAS. This is a really nice box to work with, fast, quiet, intuitive and smart. Without putting in much effort I was able to setup the device. I have setup the px4-300r in RAID 5 array with the four drives that I installed in the NAS and it was able to complete the setup pretty fast. The consistent performance of the drive surprised me and so did the amazing web UI. The NAS has a built in UPnP server for photos, music and movies. The reason I bought a NAS enclosure is because I can upgrade the hardware as and when I have expansion plans.
Comments about Iomega StorCenter px4-300r Network Storage Enclosure:
All reviews on the StorCenter px4-300r says the product is reliable. Reading the positive reviews I decided to buy the 1U rackmount NAS and everything works fine till date. The px4-300r looks nice and 1U form factor is a space saving design. The drives expandability and replacement is simple. I had the experience of working with a variety of NAS devices and I could definitely conclude that this is the best.It supports multiple RAID with hot spare and JBOD mode is also available.
Comments about Iomega StorCenter px4-300r Network Storage Enclosure:
The StorCenter px4-300r Network Storage device really impressed me with its extensive features but I was shocked at the price bracket and went further reviewing the device to find out if it is really worth the dollars spent.
But it did not take me long to find out that the px4-300r is the best NAS that has some quality features and I stopped worrying about the price. If you want something as good as px4-300r then it definitely comes at a price. I am completed satisfied with the rackmount NAS and have suggested it to my friends as well. The hardware is sturdy and the software is refined making it the best NAS I have seen in a long time.

Versatile NAS, multiple RAID levels, robust and space saving design, active directory support, interactive web interface, 7,200 rpm, compatible with HDD and SSD drives, hot swap functionality and the list goes on. Its not expensive for all these features, go for it guys!!!
Comments about Iomega StorCenter px4-300r Network Storage Enclosure:
After acquisition by EMC, Iomega is going places, this has made the SMB the most preferred especially with a justified price as well. I was happy to note that the NAS supported mirrors, stripes and RAID 5 array. This is not all the Gigabit Ethernet ports are bonded together with load balanced or 802.3ad aggregated teams. To top it all there are three USB 2.0 ports through which I connect to my digital printer and external hard drives.
The storage manager utility has made my work completely light as it is easy to locate the appliance and also maps the drive letters. The storage manager handles IP SAN creation very effectively.
Comments about Iomega StorCenter px4-300r Network Storage Enclosure:
I wanted a NAS device that has a decent storage space and great backup options. I wanted something exceptional and advanced. Hence I was looking for an advanced level NAS devices and the Iomega StorCenter px4-300r caught my attention. I did not want to invest in the device without reading some reviews and found that most of the reviews were positive. The NAS server is powered by EMC storage technology what more could you ask for. The design is appealing with space saving 1U form factor. It is faster and reliable and this is what I wanted for my data.
The cross platform file sharing is another advantage. iSCSI block access is worth a mention here. I found the multiple RAID options welcome that supports hot swaps.
Comments about Iomega StorCenter px4-300r Network Storage Enclosure:
Sharing data was never so easy before. The Iomega personal cloud that is part of the Iomega StorCenter px4-300r NAS array is absolutely a delight to own. It has made my work so simple. Now I can connect to my various devices via the internet. It is not anything like public or private cloud applications, it is more than that. Iomega personal cloud is a self owned cloud, gives me complete access control of my data.
Hereafter I need not fear the security of my data. The storage is expandable and I can add more drives or high capacity drives to the bays. The bays can accommodate both 2.5" and 3.5" drives. RAID rebuild and hot swap has made the device secure.
Comments about Iomega StorCenter px4-300r Network Storage Enclosure:
Installation was a flash with the Storage Manager utility that was part of the Iomega StorCenter px4-300r package. The device comes with a pair of Gigabit Ethernet ports and three USB 2.0 ports to connect externally. One disadvantage is that adding extra shelves is not possible, well this does not matter as the px4 is packed with three USB ports for connecting to external hard drives when in need of extra storage space. I fitted the NAS enclosure with 2TB SATA drives giving me 8TB of space minus some that was gobbled up for RAID 5 configuration.
Complete file sharing process can be viewed using the software as the Storage Manager takes care of IP SAN creation. The storage manager offers quick access to the management web console of the px4 using which I was able to setup basic tasks like email alerting, etc.
Comments about Iomega StorCenter px4-300r Network Storage Enclosure:
I would call it a pricey unit but for the wide range of features it supports the Iomega StorCenter px4-300r network storage enclosure is worth every cent spent. The 1U rack chassis is sturdy though it occupies some extra space on my table. I opted for rackmount form factor because it is the best option when it comes to supporting enterprise environments. Using the dual gigabit Ethernet ports I am able to connect to my data remotely. Thanks to the internet.
UPS monitoring port, Axis IP security camera server, device to device data replication, Active Directory support are some of the many features that will attract customers. Scheduled backups and online backup has made the NAS device the most sought after.
Comments about Iomega StorCenter px4-300r Network Storage Enclosure:
My company just bought Iomega StorCenter px4-300r Network Storage Enclosure and entrusted the job of setting it up to me. I was happy to do so, as I needed to add our own drives to get the device working. Iomega ships only the enclosure with a space for 3.5" SATA hard drive (we use SATA, though SSD can also be added). The reason I opted for SATA is because it has more benefits when compared to traditional drives as it is easy to install and two or more SATA drives can be used as a single drive combing their capacities to make one big drive. Mirroring also is possible with SATA drives. The Network storage enclosure supports iSCSI block level access, USB printer server, UPS communication and many more. We are all happy with the product.
