The camera boasts three 1920 x 1080 CMOS sensors along with the powerful DIGIC DV III Image Processor, which provides enhanced shading, lifelike tonal gradations, new custom picture settings and lower power consumption. The XF 300 also features a newly developed L-Series 18x zoom lens, HDMI/Component/Composite outputs and full image customization. There are 2 Compact Flash / CF card slots and versatile recording functions, as well. The instant Auto Focus / AF system is fast and accurate, while the SuperRange Optical Image Stabilization ensures that you can counteract the effects of motion blur.
The XF 300 features a 4" 1.23MP / megapixel LCD monitor and a high resolution 1.55MP viewfinder. As far as connectivity, the camera features a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Terminal and a Remote Control Terminal (compatible with LANC protocol), in addition to its HDMI output. There is a stereo microphone incorporated into the XF 300, plus 2 XLR audio inputs that provide connectivity to external microphones and other professional audio devices. Audio is recorded in 16-bit PCM format at 48kHz for high quality and fidelity. The XF 300 is compatible with Canon's new BP-955 and BP-975 Intelligent Lithium-ion batteries, which communicate remaining running time and wear data back to the camcorder, so the user is well-informed at all times. The camera is also compatible with existing Canon BP-900 series batteries. The XF 300 is compatible with both Mac and Windows platforms.
