Ikelite Tray with Dual Release Handles
The Ikelite Tray with Dual Release Handles is an accessory for certain underwater housings for digital cameras. The tray provides stability underwater and attachment points for external lighting and accessories. The unique release handles allow easy attachment and removal of arm components at the touch of a button, for added convenience above and below water. The placement of the release handles does not interfere with the opening and closing of housings.
This is an aluminum tray with rubberized handle grips, featuring mounting locations for the attachment of an Ikelite Pro Video battery pack. The tray only works with Ikelite housings featuring 3" (7.6 cm) spacing between mounting points. It is compatible with Ikelite Compact Digital and ULTRAcompact Digital Still housings and Canon, Panasonic, Olympus or Sony housings for compact digital still cameras. Ikelite housings serial no. 37100 or less with male threaded mounting hardware require the #9523.09 tray spacer, sold separately. Housings with female threaded mounting hardware do not require a separate spacer.

After receiving my IkeLite 6146.12 housing (single handle tray included) and taking it out on several dives, I found myself having troubles stabilizing the housing with just one handle. Although I could sorta cup the housing with my other hand, I quickly found myself understanding why my UW photographer friends all have dual handle trays.
What a difference! After swapping out the handles -painless- I immediately noticed a big difference in the balance of the housing and found it much easier to operate the controls.
Now, after 5 hours of video/photo use, I am very satisfied with this product. It balances out the housing giving it better stability, the craftsmanship is excellent -love the new grips and the ergonomic curvature of the handles- and the push button releases make it very easy for me to move my strobe from one side to the other while on the go.
