The Crucial Technology 512GB m4 SSD 2.5" Solid State Internal Drive with Data Transfer Kit combines a m4 solid state internal drive with a kit that facilitates a quick and simple data transfer from one drive to another. The Solid State Drive has a SATA interface and is capable of transfer speeds up to 6Gbps. It's designed with high-speed synchronous MLC NAND, advanced controller technology and optimized NAND management. Unlike traditional hard drives, the RealSSD features no moving parts, which provides quieter and cooler operation - as well as better durability.
The Data Transfer Kit makes it simple to copy everything from your old hard drive, including operating system, data, email settings and applications, to your m4 SSD. The kit comes with EZ Gig III Cloning and Imaging software if you use Windows and Shirt Pocket SuperDuper! software if you're working with a Mac. For convenience, Crucial adds a USB to SATA cable as well.
The standard SATA interface will dramatically improve your computer's data transfer speeds for bandwidth-demanding applications like audio and video. It will also improve everyday operations like viewing and editing photos and other media, gaming, communications, productivity and security. The m4 SSD provides blazingly fast, reliable data storage and retrieval, while the kit helps you upgrade your notebook drive in just three simple steps.

Comments about Crucial Technology 512GB m4 SSD 2.5" Solid State Internal Drive with Data Transfer Kit:
I installed this in a 2001 Macbook Pro and enabled TRIM in OS X. I'm happy with the speed and I have not had any problems.
I've also dual booted a UEFI Windows 8 install. TRIM is enabled and the speed is about what I expect. No fault of the drive, Apple does the very minimum for Windows usage.
Yes, it's not an in expensive drive. But if you need speed and space it's a great deal.

Use it for uncompressed and compressed HD video in a Blackmagic Shuttle. One of the only drives that has a fast enough random write speed to do full HD realtime recording.

Comments about Crucial Technology 512GB m4 SSD 2.5" Solid State Internal Drive with Data Transfer Kit:
The SSD was placed in a macbook pro that previously had an Apple (Toshiba) 256gig SSD. I needed more space for photo editing, virtual machines and the like.
Install was easy and took only a few minutes time once the screws and bottom laptop case portion were removed.
The 256gig SSD was imaged to the 512 Crucial SSD with the provided software and cable.
I ended up having to re-install OSX due to 10.7 not getting along with the fact I had doubled the hard drive size. OS X booted up but would not let me resize the partition to take up the whole or even part of the additional space.
The drive is fast with read speeds around 538 MB/s and write speeds around 230ish MB/s. These numbers blew away Apple's stock SSD rates.
Overall so far happy with the drive and was competitively priced. OWC has one slightly more expensive (less than 100$ more as of writing this) with the same warranty but has SandForce chip vs the Marvell chip in the m4.

Works as expected, arrived quickly.
Did not come with 2.5 to 3.5" mount. Had to order a separate one. Did come with transfer cable though.

Comments about Crucial Technology 512GB m4 SSD 2.5" Solid State Internal Drive with Data Transfer Kit:
Recently bought a new laptop with lots of cpu and memory so the hard drive became the bottle neck, not anymore. Copied the data easily via the transfer kit and then installed the new drive. I had a minor issue with a couple of programs not working correctly but easily fixed them with the repair option.
This drive is so fast, windows boots up very quickly and programs that seemed to take forever to start like VMWare now just fly. This is a fantastic drive.

Comments about Crucial Technology 512GB m4 SSD 2.5" Solid State Internal Drive with Data Transfer Kit:
Upgraded maxed-out Lenovo ThinkPad W520 (which replaced a W510). Only thing left to do was to go from a spinning disk drive to an SSD.
EZ-Gig continues to be a great cloning software with the enclosed ESata cable.
Affordable with Crucial's superb reputation for quality products.
Everything works faster, as you would expect.

The Crucial 512GB SSD is a great addition to any computer needing a speed boost. Adding performance in both read and write speed, Mac OSX boot time and application performance is super quick and file open time heavily reduced.

Comments about Crucial Technology 512GB m4 SSD 2.5" Solid State Internal Drive with Data Transfer Kit:
Speed performance at windows boot and shutdown is impressive, opening an application has never been so fast and with 512Gb storage, there's enough space for photos, music or videos.
Transfer kit was very useful and simple to use, it took me about one day to clone my 500Gb hard disk.
This SSD drive pack is worth the money!
