Digidesign HEAT - Analog Warmth and Color Emulator (TDM)

HEAT from Avid is a TDM processor for Pro Tools HD systems that fuses the color characteristics of vintage analog consoles, vacuum tube circuits and analog tape into a mix, using high-quality and sophisticated algorithms. It has the ability to "glue" a mix while subtly enhancing the "depth".

HEAT (Harmonically Enhanced Algorithm Technology) is not a plug-in in the usual sense of the word. When installed it is automatically available on every track in the mix window and only needs to be activated or bypassed. It also provides the power to tweak its Drive and Tone controls globally to get the sound required, whether that means something richer, brighter, smoother, or livelier.

For the sound designer or sound effects editor, adding a little HEAT to tracks can make any sterile-sounding recording or canned effect sound punchier and livelier. Developed in collaboration with renowned audio designer and Cranesong founder, Dave Hill, HEAT tightly integrates with a Pro Tools HD system, enabling the user to easily create rich-sounding mixes with unique warmth, punch and clarity.
