Impact from Avid is a TDM plug-in that features a mix bus style compressor, available only for the company's HD Accel PCI cards. The plug-in provides support for multi-channel tracks up to 7.1 and sampling rates up to 192kHz, and is ideal for professional music and post environments with its ability to go from a subtle smoothing to extreme squashing compression.
The user interface emulates the clean look of a console mix bus compressor and features four selectable compression ratios, along with variable controls for attack, release, threshold, and make-up gain. A gain reduction meter replicates an analog meter with an animated bouncing needle, providing a visual representation of authentic ballistics. A side-chain input allows any Pro Tools audio track to be used as an external key.
