LG Electronics Portable Super Multi Drive (Black)
The Portable Super Multi Drive (Black) from LG Electronics is a lightweight, easy-to-use external CD and DVD burner for your Windows or Mac laptop. This drive can read and burn a number of different discs formats, including CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD+R DL, DVD-R DL and DVD-RAM. To begin, all you need to do is connect the drive to your computer via the included USB 2.0 "Y" cable. This USB connection also powers the drive, so you don't have to worry about carrying around a clunky power supply. Along with this drive, you will receive disc burning software.
- This drive can notably read and burn these disc formats: CD-R/RW, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, DVD+R DL, DVD-R DL, and DVD-RAM
- The drive features write speeds of up to 8x for DVD-R, DVD+R and DVD+RW discs, and write speeds of up to 24x for CD-R and CD-RW discs
- Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 interface for high-speed data transfer
- Buffer Under Run error protection technology
- Emergency eject support
- Supports region playback control Phase II
- The drive is powered by your computer via the USB connection so, no AC adapter is needed

Wanted to use it to replace a CD/DVD drive that died on my old DEll desktop with the ease of connecting using USB 2.0. But after looking at the small print, your CPU must be faster than 2.0 Ghz. The old Dell was only 1.8 so it wouldn't run. Tried the drive on my much faster laptop, and it worked great.
