Comments about Azden SMX-20 DSLR Stereo Microphone:
I have a lot of experience with Azden microphones. I feel that they produce some of the best shotgun mics in terms of performance and value. Their new SMX-20 follows suit. It's compact, sounds great and is priced very competitively compared to other mics in its class. The included shockmount is very isolating and a nice bonus. If you need a short external mic for your DSLR camera and don't want to spend a ton of money, the SMX-20 is a good choice.

Comments about Azden SMX-20 DSLR Stereo Microphone:
Great addition to my 5D. It's small and light and seems very durable. Sound pick-up is excellent, especially for the price. Low noise floor with this camera. Highly recommended.

Comments about Azden SMX-20 DSLR Stereo Microphone:
I bought this mic to use with my Canon 60d. It's a great size and fit for the camera but the audio performance was very bad. I did several tests to compare the SMX-20 to the built-in mic on the camera. I was really surprised that the audio quality of the SMX-20 was almost identical to that of the built-in mic, and so was the pick up range. The worst part was when I plugged the SMX-20 in to the camera, it brought the noise floor significantly up to where I got this annoying hiss. At least the built-in mic is quiet. I returned this mic immediately. I would not recommend it.
