The Aspire One AOD255E-13647 10.1" Netbook Computer from Acer is a compact netbook computer with a 10.1" LED backlit LCD display. The system weighs a scant 2.4 pounds, making it easy to carry with you wherever you go. Its 3-cell battery provides up to 4 hours of use between charges. Windows 7 Starter (32-bit) is the installed operating system.

I have to say that for the great price [$] from B&H, I wasn't expecting too much. I run XP on another laptop and a desktop and was expecting Windows 7 Starter to be very limited. So far this Netbook has handled everything I have thrown at it. I installed a copy of Lotus 97, Office 2000, Microsoft Money, OpenOffice, and an old program from Windows 3.1 called Cardfile, if anyone remembers that. I have a sreensaver working and at this point I have to say I am impressed. Battery life isn't the greatest, but it is about what I expected. I've ordered a 2 GB memory card and hope this little box runs a little faster once I get it installed.Al in all, I'm happy.

If you are used the speed of a desktop or laptop this definitely takes some getting used to. It was frustating at first how slow the browser went, but its not that bad and you get used to it quick. Definitely good for an extra computer to check email or browse the web, but I would not recommend it for main computer use. If you like to stream music, I suggest using headphones or buying external speakers. The internal speakers are not very good. Overall it's a nice little computer for the money to sit around on the couch with or take on a trip. It is very small and light weight, easy to travel with.

I gave up buying expensive laptops that are heavy in features (and weight) that just die after a year or two. This this weights nothing by comparison and takes up minimal room for travel. All I need is a way to connect when on the road. This fits the bill. Sure, it's not blazing fast, but it gets the job done. And when it dies, a new one will cost less than my prior repairs!

If you are used the speed of a desktop or laptop this definitely takes some getting used to. It was frustating at first how slow the browser went, but its not that bad and you get used to it quick. Definitely good for an extra computer to check email or browse the web, but I would not recommend it for main computer use. I am surprised how much I like this Netbook. For less than $200, I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get all my old stiff running on XP to work with this unit.
I was able to install Lotus 97, Office 3000, Microsoft Money and even an old Windows 3.1 program, called Cardfile.

I recently purchased an Aspire One Netbook Computer and am really pleased with it. The performance is surprisingly good considering the small size (which, btw, would probably be the only downside...the 10 inch screen,but then I was aware of that when I purchased it). I wanted something I could use personally since we have both a PC as well as a larger laptop(another Aspire). It is for personal use but is quick and easy to operate. And although I mentioned the size being a "downside" I can add that it also an "upside"...it is easy to travel with!!! Love the computer [...]! Definitely would purchase from your online store again...Thank you!!
