Be careful. That part of this drive which is inserted in computer USB slot is MADE OF black PLASTIC instead of metal!!! Could easily be broken. Don't waist your money, look for something else.

Comments about HP / Hewlett Packard 8GB v255w USB Flash Drive:
This HP flash drive works as advertised. As with all flash drives, it contains a significant amount of PC files that are a waste of space to Mac users, but it does come close to holding the advertised amount of new data. The small thumb switch is adequate to extend and retract the USB plug, a feature that is important to me, as there's no cap to lose and the tip is protected when not in use. I've been content with both saving and reading speeds and have had no malfunctions or quirky behavior. This is not the latest in USB flash technology, but it is proven and reliable. A good value on a good product.

It's a flash drive. Does what it's supposed to do. The retractable switch works fine.
