The WXGA resolution ViewSonic PJD5523W DLP Projector is powerful and feature-rich at a surprisingly affordable price. This projector is also ready for the 3D revolution. With 2700 lumens and up to a 2000:1 dynamic contrast ratio it's got the projection power to create vivid lifelike images in a wide variety of projection venues, at home, in school or at work.
It not only projects in 720p, 1080i and 1080p it can accept high definition signals in pure digital form thanks to its HDMI connector. This projector is also compatible with the NTSC, PAL and SECAM international video signals and it's got an international 100 - 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz power supply to complement its worldwide capabilities.
The PJD5523W projects clear, vibrant images thanks to its Texas Instruments Digital Light Processor Digital Micromirror Device (DLP DMD) imaging panel (The part that forms the picture). Ironically, DLP chipsets not only produce some of the most intensely vivid and beautiful images of any technology, they actually save you time and money too. As a bonus they don't require filters that have to be cleaned and replaced.
Finally, when you want to make sure you include your entire audience you'll appreciate this projector's closed captioning capabilities (from sources that provide it). CC was developed for the hard of hearing but it's also useful for helping people for whom English is a second language and any time you're projecting in a noisy environment.

Comments about Viewsonic PJD5523W DLP Projector:
This projector was purchased as a replacement to an LED projector and had a much better, sharper image than the LED projector. Colors are vibrant and the overall quality of the image is excellent for our needs (boardroom projector).
We are very happy with this unit and would recommend it to others.

Comments about Viewsonic PJD5523W DLP Projector:
Placed in basement for watching sports, movie night, and some gaming. Awesome picture quality and far exceeded my expectations. A great bang for the buck. As with any projector the darker it is the better the picture looks, but even with a well lit basement the screen can still be viewed.

Comments about Viewsonic PJD5523W DLP Projector:
I compared this projector to several in the market including the Viewsonic PJD6531w. This projector has longer bulb life by 1,000 hours, an updated color wheel which is important for video, smaller footprint, and only about 500 or so lumens less. For the price I chose this over a comparable 1080p projector
