I am a professional photographer specializing in families and babies. I have only used the floor mat for one session and some test shots so far, and it has worked well.

I wasn't expecting it to do this, but if you're wondering: no, it is not large enough for a family photo.

***Cons: It is shipped in a tube, and it still -- after over a week of laying flat -- continues to curl up at one side. It's not that big of a deal, and I don't know how else they would ship it, but it is a little annoying.

I also wish it was another foot or two wider.

***Surprises: The floor boards on the mat are wider than I had envisioned based on the photo shown online. Each board is about 10-12 inches wide. Not good or bad, but just surprising.

Also surprising was it's weight/heft. This was a GOOD surprise! I can't imagine it ever getting a kink in it or wrinkling up with a toddler dancing on it. It is heavy enough to stay down, but not so heavy you can't move it around.

***PROS!!!: The rubber backing helps it stick down and stay in place to a hard floor.

It looks very realistic. I snapped some test shots of my son, and when I e-mailed them to my friends and fam for feedback, and they were curious where I took the pictures, thinking it was a REAL wood floor.

Considering it's heft, I doubt you could ever wear this thing out. Take that into consideration with the price, and it's a great bargain.

This product looks great in my pictures. The only downfall is that when its been rolled up it tends to stay curled at the edge - easily remedied with some weights.
