Comments about Altec Lansing Orbit USB Lite Speaker:
I bought this for teaching, because the built-in speakers on a macbook air are not very effective. These speakers go easily in a bag, and project very well in a lecture theater seating 150.

Quick set-up. USB powered. Great sound. Now we can finally hear those quite dialogue scenes when watching movies on our laptop

Comments about Altec Lansing Orbit USB Lite Speaker:
They sound OK for my use. But when I boot up, or when the computer goes on stand-by, the speakers make a squealing sound. If I'm away from my computer, I have to disconnect the speaker. It's the same on both of my computers. (I bought 2 and they both do this on both computers.)
I also have their model IM227 and it's fine. But it uses batteries and not the USB.

Comments about Altec Lansing Orbit USB Lite Speaker:
Bought this speaker for listening to music on my notebook PC (internal speakers are worthless). Am very pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. Nice, clear. And it's USB powered, so no batteries needed.
