MITRA CORP 3D Mic Pro
The Mitra 3D Mic Pro places an affordable, immersive audio capturing microphone in the hands of sound designers, videographers and just about anyone with a portable video camera or portable audio recording device. The 3D Mic Pro delivers stunningly realistic, human-ear immersive audio without any external processing. The microphone's output connections easily connect to the inputs of portable recorders, portable video cameras, DSLR cameras and more.
The base of the microphone features Mitra's SHEM signal processing system, which mimics the perception of human hearing and encodes the signal. The bottom of the base features a 1/4-20 tripod base, which allows for tripod mounting and adapter accessories such as shoe adapters and shockmounts (optional). The 3D Mic Pro operates on a pair of 9V batteries and level indicators display remaining battery life. The Mitra 3D Pro is more than ideal for audio-for-video applications, field audio capturing, sound design, audio for gaming and much more.

I was looking to up the quality of my audio recordings for corporate and creative videography. I had seen a couple of postive reviews from industry professionals for whom I respect. So I ordered and have been using for one month now. I am very pleased with the quality the 3D Mic Pro offers. The immersive quality is amazing but most surprising is the ease to obtain. It is not complicated and the results are just great.
Another positive worth mentioning is the technical support. I have had several email dialogs and Mitra technical support is prompt and thorough. They never made me feel rushed and their passion shows through. I have even gotten follow up emails checking on my progress. A+ product. A+ support and A+ company.

As a professional wildlife cinematographer, having quality gear that holds up in extreme environments is essential. In addition, to be able to record and provide a "true" sound environment for the audience has now become necessary.
In the past I've had to suffice to basic sound recordings in the field that never really gave the sense of place. Unfortunately sound has often been an afterthought. But not now. The New Mitra 3D mic is an amazing tool that clearly enhances my film and art projects. To be immersed in sound and to be able to pick up the subtleties of the environment enhances everything-for me and the audience.
The Mitra 3D mic is very versatile as It can sit on a cold shoe, on the camera, on a boom pole or on a gorilla stand set up close to the subject. In every way this is a tool that is a "game changer" for wildlife filmmaking. It may look a bit funny, but the advantage of being able to record 5.1 surround sound as our ears hear with this 3D mic and the reality that the production can now present immersive sound is an enhancement like no other in todays market. Highly recommend!!!
