Sescom IL-19-MINI 3.5mm Stereo Mini I/O Hum Eliminator
The IL-19-MINI 3.5mm Stereo Mini I/O Hum Eliminator by Sescom is a transformer designed to minimize or eliminate ground loop hum, mode noise, and differentially induced hum produced by devices such as DSLR's, MP3 players, computers, tablets, and cell phones. These devices often produce unwanted noise and the IL-19-MINI stops it dead in its tracks by keeping bad signals out of the circuit and providing proven line level isolation. The transformer also protects against hum and interference from external sources such as power supplies, motors, and generators.
Engineered for flatter and broader frequency response, the IL-19 is able to produce hotter signals without adding saturation enabling increased output from your device. Its small 2 x 2" high impact and non-conductive enclosure makes the IL-19-MINI able to be installed almost anywhere and includes a piece of hook and loop tape to secure it to most any surface.- Minimizes or eliminates ground loop hum, mode noise, and differentially induced hum

I have an animiated light show and used a laptop with a 100 ft. shielded mini cable to my audio and fm transmitter. Before using this device I had a low level hum during quiet periods of music that was easily heard.
After inserting this device there was no detectable hum and the low power FM transmitter sounds very good around my home.
This device works as advertised and completely addressed my particular configuration.
No disadvantages for the use case I have.
