Very well made, and rather useful. Better than continuously cutting foam every time you change your gear. However, it would be difficult to arrange foam for larger items, as it is designed to create smaller, regularly spaced spacers.

I use these deviders for my photo equipment, lenses from 14 -24, 24-70, 70-200, 200-400mm and a 105 macro, flahes (7), body's (2). After a certain time, you will change some gear, lenses sizes and so on, these deviders are adapting to your needs. The foam ones are less expansive but you will need to either glue or replace them in a near future.

I needed dividers to meet my ever changing gear needs. Foam is nice but limited and a pain to change over. I was tired of wasting money on foam.
With the dividers I can now arrange to every job I need on location.
Plus having secure storage in the studio with the case is a bonus.
Half the case is for the my two camera body's lens supplies. The other handles a 17 inch mac book pro, screen shade , and supplies.

Lots of extra dividers come with this package so no worries in making things snug in there spot.
Easy access getting stuff in and out, and one time purchase for life time of road work.

had the foam but the dividers give lots more room. almost too much room. now I have to get more gear to fill up the room. LOL

the quality is ok, kinda expected better from pelican but its not bad.

not as nice as Domke dividers, for example.

would not use for shipping or airline travel(use the foam)

Much better than the foam insert. Dividers are adjustable for different types of equipment.

I originally got a 1650 with foam and found that it protects really well, but is a pain to reconfigure and the foam eats a lot of space (although if I fly this will get swapped back in instead of the dividers). The dividers offer a lot more usable space and protect in normal usage, very configurable, great design, and pelican build quality!

I originally got a 1650 with foam, and while it is a great solution for airlines and shipping, I found that I couldn't fit a whole lot in there, and that reconfiguring the foam is difficult. With dividers (as long as I'm not flying) I can keep a lot more at hand and safe for my handling than with the foam.

I used to use the foam padding and break out shapes for delicate gear, but I find that it doesn't last that long with a lot of use -- the padded divider set is actually the perfect long-term solution for a Pelican case. You get a lot of pieces to organize with and it's well padded enough for air travel. My only complaint might be that it's difficult to create some of the odder configurations you might need due to the uniformity of most of the dividers, but you can make almost anything work.

I have several Pelican cases and in the past I have used the foam and it works great. Now I use the padded dividers and it works even better. Great quality material and you know it will protect your expensive gear like it should. No regrets.
