consolidation over previous-generation servers. With improved versatility, enterprise-class uptime, sophisticated management features, the latest processor series, and a 2U density form factor, this device is well-prepared to handle demanding video applications.
The server is engineered for sophisticated performance video applications requiring high availability and redundancy. With its hot plug fans and power supplies, the device offers high system availability
where the number of unplanned downtimes caused by hardware failures is reduced.
The MHW-S380R7-EL features a quad-core Intel Xeon Processor E5606, with a speed of 2.13 GHz, an 8.0 MB L3 cache, an 80 W power supply, and DDR3-1066 memory. It's also got 4.0 GB (2x 2.0 GB) of PC3‑10600R Registered DIMM memory, running at 1066 MHz. The CPU and memory team up to deliver performance, scalability, and support for memory-demanding applications in medium-sized recording environments--without redundancy on disk
level.
Additionally, the server includes a 146 GB internal Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) hard disk drive, plus a DVD drive, dual SCSI HBAs, and dual 460 W hotplug power supplies. The server comes bundled with Microsoft Windows Server 2008.
The server's 2U, 19" (48.3 cm) form factor boasts a quick-deploy rail system, including sliding universal rails, enabling access to all system components for simple in-rack serviceability.
Two HP NC382i Dual Port
Multifunction Gigabit server adapters plus one NC382T PCIe Dual Port Gigabit server adapter offer a total of six Gigabit Ethernet ports.
To provide high capacity data storage, connect optional external SCSI storage arrays, such as the Bosch DVA range of SCSI storage arrays, to the server by way of 2 PCI-e single-channel SCSI Host Bus Adapters (arrays not included).
