The JMR ELECTRONICS 32TB BlueStor DigiLab 16-Bay Split BP Server / RAID Controller/ Drives is a high-performance video server, boasting 32 TB data storage capacity. It comes equipped with 16x 2.0 TB hard disk drives. The server contains no video graphics card. An extremely versatile, open platform storage system, the DigiLab delivers unrivaled on-set digital image processing, monitoring and control functionality for the most demanding digital video workflows, be they on-set or in post facilities.
Employing JMR's respected, patented PCI-Express DAS technology, the DigiLab Video Server offers transfer rates of up to 1600 MB/s, or over 1.5 GB/s, while delivering the processing power required for running advanced digital intermediate applications. The array of I/O connections featured on the server make it easy to ingest and transcode from any of today's popular digital media formats!
The server provides seamless integration of advanced Quad-Core Intel processors, a built-in Blu-ray writer and a 19-in-1 media reader into a 16-drive hot-swappable RAID storage system. The fast RAID performance is due to laboratory optimized hardware and software. The DigiLab boasts dual RAID controllers and dual SAS expanders that deliver higher real-world throughput rates than virtually any competitor solutions. Additionally, though not included in this configuration, the DigiLab supports an NVIDIA (or other brand) graphics card.
Targeted towards supporting complex workflow operations like RED 4K, DigiLab's processing power easily accommodates the majority of high-end color monitoring, digital finishing and video editing applications available for PC platforms. The server is integrated with tools such as SpeedGrade and SCRATCH, plus REDCINE-X, enabling DPs to shoot in the field and directly transcode their REDCODE RAW data footage from the RED ONE camera into RGB video. They can also perform basic "one-light" color correction, shot-framing or editing. JMR's integration of sophisticated BlueStor RAID technology also guarantees that your DigiLab is an easily scalable solution: Adding more capacity is a simple, virtually effortless process!
The server is fully SES 2.0 compliant and displays real-time disk activity / failure status for each drive bay. You'll also find physical user interface controls and indicators for power and cooling status with visible and audible alarms, in addition to front panel power and reset switches. The RAID controllers support RAID levels 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 40, 50, 60, DVRAID, N-way mirroring and global hot spares. There's also support for automatic RAID rebuild, online capacity expansion and RAID group partitioning with a simple, intuitive GUI for RAID management and configuration.
