The B+W 58mm #29 Dark Red (091) Filter is a basic contrast filter, primarily for use with black and white film. This dark red filter dramatically darkens skies, cuts through haze, and increases overall contrast. When compared to the red #25 filter, the #29 produces even darker, black skies and a more surreal contrast between foliage, clouds, and sky. There is an 8x filter factor with this filter, requiring an increase of 3 stops for normal exposure.
B+W filters are constructed from high quality Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. They feature a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Comments about B+W 58mm #29 Dark Red (091) Filter:
I have been using this filter alone or in combination with others to shoot infrared and extended red sensitivity film and find it quite useful. It works well providing a moderate infrared effect with films sensitive to IR light to one degree or another.

Comments about B+W 58mm #29 Dark Red (091) Filter:
Bought this filter to do Faux IR photography with full spectrum converted camera. Filter has cutoff wavelength 630nm and produces beautiful images with full spectrum camera. Of course bit of processing is required (channel swapping, wb adjustments). I really like high quality multi coated glass as well as brass ring.

I like the way it highlights the clouds and darkens the blue sky.

Comments about B+W 58mm #29 Dark Red (091) Filter:
It does what it says it would do and feels quite sturdy. Although, that is only if you correct for the failure film has at lower speeds. If you don't then the negative will be quite dark and prints will take a while to get the correct time.
Overall I'd recommend this to someone looking to take your shutter speed down about 3 stops and to get much more contrast from your shots.
