The Sima SL-10HD Universal HD Video Light with Dimmer Control works like three lights in one with warm, natural and cool lighting settings. Such range is possible because of the 0 to 100% dimmer, which guarantees that you'll achieve the perfect lighting for every video shoot. The dimmer has three settings: off, low and full light. The SL-10HD features 10 individual LED lights that are three times brighter than standard xenon bulbs. Plus, the ultra-efficient LEDs have a lifespan of over 100,000 hours and the SL-10HD can last up to one hour on a full charge. LEDs provide flicker-free lighting and the bulbs never get hot, so the lamp is always safe to touch. The proprietary LED technology also delivers color balanced light for optimal picture quality and the SL-10HD is compatible with all pro and consumer digital video cameras.

Comments about Sima SL-10HD Universal HD Video Light with Dimmer Control:
Not enough light does not work for me and it may not be the condition you need either. This light just is not that powerful. Videos will not be high-enough-quality if you did not have sufficient light for the sensors to pick it up, yet, I cannot say that this product will cast light for a great distance. It is most likely best for very close up recording like a few feet, and you will likely need another source of light, perhaps, a couple low-watt fluorescent lights on a two different stands to really light up the subject? Maybe consider something else, a different product if you need it to be the main source of light.

Comments about Sima SL-10HD Universal HD Video Light with Dimmer Control:
The light has a description that made it seem like a lot more than it actually is. The description has since been corrected. Since it wasn't what I expected I haven't really used the light but have done a few quick tests to see if it would be at all useful.
It generates a rather narrow been of light and will illuminate about a 2 foot diameter circle from about 6 feet away. Farther out brightness drastically drops off and farther away than 6 feet the illumination provided becomes almost useless. I'd say it's bright enough to illuminate a small area up to about 6 feet away but for anything larger or farther away it won't do the job. (I have a 5 LED bicycle light that's easily twice as bright and shines much farther though it is of course also much more focused)
It also seems to drain the battery fairly quickly. After just a few minutes of testing the brightness dropped to the point where there was no notable difference between the middle and 100% settings. I used rechargeable batteries so this might be due to the batteries used, but I experienced this twice with different sets of batteries. Overall I wouldn't recommend this light - it's very cheap but it's better to spend a few bucks more and get something that's actually useful.
