The ThinkPad T520 15.6" Notebook Computer from Lenovo is 15.6" notebook computer with a 16:9 antiglare widescreen display. Its 1366 x 768 resolution is perfect for 720p HD video playback. The system features a comfortable, spill-resistant keyboard and Lenovo's UltraNav system for mousing. UltraNav combines a TrackPoint and a large multi-gesture TouchPad for precise cursor control.
The computer is powered by a dual-core 2.5GHz Intel Core i5-2520M CPU, which can be overclocked to 3.2GHz thanks to Intel Turbo Boost. It is loaded with 4GB of RAM, a 320GB 7200rpm hard drive, integrated Intel GMA HD 3000 graphics, and a DVD burner. It boasts Bluetooth 3.0+HS, dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi, a 2MP webcam, and a built-in memory card reader. Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) is the installed operating system.

I bought this laptop because I am starting up with a masters program and wanted something functional and sturdy to get me through school. Of course something super slim and flashy would be nice, but also most likely twice the price. I chose the T520 because I have owned a ThinkPad in the past and it lasted a long time. The T520 is fast, and seems lightweight for its size, but it is a little thicker than I am used to carrying around in a book bag. The keyboard is roomy enough for typing to be natural, and I have always loved the navigation dot in the middle (forgive me for not knowing the proper name). Touchpad navigation on other machines, even Macs is cumbersome, but the touchpad on the T520 is sensitive enough to move across the screen quickly, and I really like the texture of the raised bumps. Battery-life seems a bit short, but I am upgrading to a solid-state hard drive, which will hopefully double it.
